$4.15 today, filled up from a bit above 1/2 tank. I didn't want to fill up this soon, but it was raining like mad and the aaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrfffffff!!! my worn out wiper blades were making as they scraped across the windshield was driving me fricken bonkers... stopped in mal*wart and got some new blades and needed a dry place to put them on so I pulled into the gas station. Figured I'd fill it up there while I was at it.

33.93 MPG, sure wish I could have done better this time... :crying:

Costco had their fuel up to $4.30. That's pretty good since the cheap ARCO gas( which my wife, her brother, & many others won't use) is also the same price.

Anyhow, the Accent fought the high gas price yesterday when I went to Mt. Rainier & 5500 foot Chinook Pass. Getting back from the 192 Mile roundtrip, the Costco gas bill was only $19.36, indicating the Accent sipped the gas at 42.6 MPG. I hope the Accent isn't at its best on high altitudes & will get even better MPG on a low altitude flat highway.

I almost filled up Friday morning at $4.06 or so but I chose not to. Naturally, I get out of work Friday evening and it's shot up to $4.29. I waited until today to fill up, found it for $4.26.

Did ok, 9.503 gallons for 336 miles of my usual mixed city/highway driving... 35.35 MPG. Surprised me considering this tank was on an E10 blend and was reformulated to boot since I live in an area that the EPA mandates RFG...

I think they're using RFG year round but not 100% sure of it... I know it's here at least in the summer. That takes a bit of gas mileage away and the car doesn't really run as well... :(

Plus Indiana and Kentucky don't seem to have clear laws on labeling pumps for ethanol content so I'm never 100% sure if the gas I'm putting in has E10 in it or not. The station I filled up at last week at least came out and said they did. It seems to be up to the station's discretion to say whether ethanol is present in the fuel or not.

When you end up with reformulated gas that contains ethanol you get a double whammy for lower gas mileage! :(

This is very important that people fill there tanks by wednesday/thursday if thursday isn't already too late. I hear gas will shoot up to out of control prices for the 4th of July weekend.

We all know this usually happens during the holiday but this year will be overkill. I heard second hand that some service, not sure if it is oil companies, or government, are telling gas stations to shoot up the prices to average over $5.00 a gallon. This is CA, but if the average will shoot up over .40-.50 a gallon in a matter of a day, add that to what you have been paying. I am hearing it will go back down soon after the holiday weekend and I'm thinking it will be mid week.

This source is from a friend who works in a gas station and said they received a letter from corporate. I'm not sure if I believe it, but to be safe, and not sorry i will be topping off my tank on Wednesday and make sure it will last me until the following week.

Crazy stuff. No doubt they will stick it to us due to the holiday and the increased number of people on the roads... although with the current state of the economy and increased prices for pretty much everything including gas I think more folks will stay put this year.

How much is a different story. 50 cents sounds like a stretch but then again I have seen it jump 20-30 cents on just your normal day, not a holiday. :whistling:

I have to fill my tank every 7-10 days so I hope I can make it until it drops a little.

^ Wow, that's craziness.

I just filled Jack up yesterday, I finally widdled him down to empty.

$4.19 credit

or

$4.09 if you pay w/ cash or debit.

$38 bucks to fill up w/ cash.

I remember when it was only $20 dollars to fill up Jack when I first got him, now it's doubled.

The bad news: just paid $4.36 per gallon at Chevron for the 2008 Accent. :w00t:

Now for really good news  , good news :) ...& again, really good news!

The other day I took my wife's 2008 Accent to Mt. Rainier & it got 42.6MPG. :) Figuring the dice were rolling well, Accent & I went for a country drive today, thru one of the purdiest valleys in America south of my town near sealevel. Also, included a side route thru low mtns with a low pass at 1400 feet & two 600 foot areas. Tho there's increasing stoplites in the growing towns, its still a sweet drive!!!

Odometer was 119 miles & gas bill was $11.49...9.72 cents per mile! :)

Here comes the really good part....45.1 MPG!  :whistling:

In the face of terrible gas prices, Accent is working hard(or is it easy?) to snatch money out of the hungry mouths of the oil companies.

where'd you drive to? leavenworth? beautiful drive through the cascades there. 8)

it may be $5.75cdn/us gallon here for 87 octane, but that doesn't mean i pay it! i drive across the border in the middle of the night (no lineup) and fill my tank in washington state for ~$4.39 or whatever it's at there.
