I JUST HAD AN ACCIDENT JUNE 1 AND MY CAR IS A POSSIBLE TOTAL LOSS. I CURRENTLY DRIVE A 2005 TOYOTA MATRIX AND I LOVE MY CAR BUT I WENT TO A HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP AND TEST DROVE A 2008 ELANTRA, I WAS VERY IMPRESSED. FOR THE PRICE YOU CAN NOT BEAT IT AND IT HAS ALL THE SAFTY FEATURES PLUS IT IS NOT A BAD LOOKING CAR. I WAS WONDERING IF SOME CURRENT OWNERS CAN GIVE ME SOME FEEDBACK ON MAINTENANCE AND SATISFACTION WITH THE CAR.

So far so good. I've owned mine for almost a year now, and the only bug to come up has been a speedometer issue that won't seem to go away. Dealership has looked at it once and couldn't reproduce the symptoms. Other than that, a great car! It's quiet, has plenty of space for a family of 3, gets great fuel economy (I regularly see almost 35 mpg doing 95% highway driving), has an awesome sound system even in the base model (made by Infinity, I think), and has enough power to keep me out of trouble. The only downside is very little aftermarket support so far. Bu perhaps that'll change in the next couple of years. Overall, especially considering the warranty, I would say you would not be sorry if you bought one.

Have to agree with the others on here. Traded in my '97 Merc C230 for my GL and couldn't be happier. Feels very solid and if the rest of the car is the same quality as the interior, then the car should last me a long time. The times they are a changin' !!
