Hi all
I have a 2007 terracan special edition.
last night I tried to open the car with the button on the key and nothing happened. No locks or flashing lights.
Tried the second key to see if the key battery was low but still now effect.
Opened the car with the key in the door and the alarm went off and the engine was imobilised. Shut the car and relocked it and the alarm system reset it's self.
Went to the car this morning and the car opened and closed on both keys and started as normal.
My question is, has anyone else had the same problem and if so was it fixed by the dealer. Being an intermitant fault its a bugger to find, are these alarm systems affected by direct sunlught and temperature like the old Rover cars were. Lastly does anybdy know if there is a way of overriding the alarm and imobiliser if this happens again in the middle of nowhere
Thanks for you time in reading this any help or sugestions would be gratefully received. :liebe011:

Hi Carriageman
You have had no replies since juine so I thought I would come on line to firstly welcome you and also tell you about the universal site in the UK where we have many Tincan owners(whoops Terrecan owners) -Have you managed to get the dealer to sort this out yet? as it sounds to me as though there may even be a fault in the immobiliser side or even the ECM itself. Its very rarely the keys although they can be problematic hope this has helped a bit come on to the Uk's own http://www.hyundaiownersclub.co.uk/index.php where I hope someone there might be able to help you.

Cheers

Itza
