Drives: 1993 Scoupe Non Turbo (MVi)???
Status: OFFLINE

Heya everyone i am new top this forum and it seems to be very helpful. I have recently purchased a L Reg 1993 Hyundai Scoupe MVI and i recieved a quote for a Scoupe MVI of 1070 pounds. When i enter my reg number they quote me 3 grand. So i phone them and ask whats going on and they say its because your car is putting out between 110 and 125 bhp and it is a high performance car. Now i am sure the non turbos only put out 87 - 92 bhp standard or does the mvi put out more. I thought all the scoupes were Multi Valve Injection???? so could someone please inform me what the original bhp of my vehicle or can anyone just help full stop????

LOL 3k insurance a year for a 15year old car is outrageous.

Regular non-turbo scoupe is about 88bhp i believe.
Scoupe turbo 116 bhp

I pay 456 euro a year with all audio/accesory's insured for 1200 euro

Hi!
The turbo car is a Hyundai S-Coupe M.V.T.I. & the normally-aspirated car is designated M.V.I.

Hyundai quoted the b.h.p. figures as 90 & 115 respectively & as the weight is only about 975 kgs. (far lighter than a modern equivalent) performance is relatively high!.

I guess insurance companies know that the turbo car is easily tuneable without much evidence of this being visible, whereas this is not the case with the n.a. version.
Also, due to the age of either car, they will write it off after almost any accident-damage!.

Nick.
