OK - So new to the forum. I know some of these questions have been answered before but I couldn't find the responses I needed and was looking for a bit of detail more detail. any help you can lend is appreciated.

I have 2006 LX Sonata with 74k miles on it. I want to change my plugs but know that I need to take the manifold off. I've got the plugs and plumen gasket but wanted to know
1.) does anyone have a good link to a very descriptive page about changing the plugs (with photos) on this engine?
2.) what else do I need to change since I'm in there? Any hoses, wires, etc?

Another question: Where can I find a physical copy of a Sonata Maintenance Manual?

The factory spark plugs are rated to 100k. Being it's only an 06 you could wait a little longer on replacing them.

For my old Mazda van, I bought a Chilton's repair manual. It was very detailed. They should make one for the Sonata, by now. Google, baby.

as far as I know, they do not make a Chilton's manual for our car yet.... (or looks like for ANY Hyundai cars 2006+)

You can go to Hyundai Service and register. They have what looks like enough to get you started. Click the Shop link on the home page and enter your model. Pick your year and engine size from the dropdowns. Look in Engine Mechanical System, Intake and Exhaust System.

They don't tell you what order to tighten the bolts on the intake manifold, though. Maybe the shop manual would ... Follow the torque specs and be sure to use a torque wrench that has the correct range.

Yeef! No wonder the plugs are rated for 100K miles!

Chilton DOES NOT make a manual for our cars. They offer an "online manual" through their website for $19.95 a year. Anyone wanna take a guess what it is?

It's the same exact thing that the hmaservice.com site offers for FREE, except the pictures don't work through the Chilton site. Don't ask me how I know.

I've trusted Chilton for years. Never again!

So, lazarus319, it looks like your best bet is hmaservice.com and a good printer.
