Losing a bit of coolant; for the past month, the overflow bottle empties every week (200 kms or 120 Miles). Budget a bit tight at the moment, but should have some money to spend on repairs... who else has needed head gasket replacement? How much should this cost ? roughly... also when I refill I only use water and no additive... will this have a detrimental effect on the block/head?
OK no replies in 24 hours ??? WTF !!!the silence is bloody DEAFENING!!! dont you like Australians ? Oh yeah, so Australia is withdrawing from Iraq. And you're p!ssed off.
Oi, dont blame me, I dont run the country!!

maybe because you don't explain you problem correctly...

How much is a bit for you?

Where it is leaking?

If it is from the block ... good luck you need to go (probably) see a machinist to flated the head...

My head gasket is leaking ... but not coolant, motor oil... It's a easy fix...

but if your head gasket is leaking coolant.. good luck...

But don't be an as$ h0le, we are all busy.
and some look only the weekend.

l regret that you seem to have a bad attitude, the reply post is right in some respects in that you have not given much detail such as are there any leaks that you can see? if not it may be the head gasket leaking but you will need to do a compression test. as for how much it will cost only members in oz can answer that question due to regonal variations in labour charges, please be careful of your comments in any future posts. we do not have any preduice against any race or colour on this forum. also don't expect a instant reply to your posts, sometimes you will get one other times not, it just depends how many members are on line and have seen your questions and also if they can give you an answer

Jon

"... It's a easy fix..." how so? Easy, really. What would it entail?

Hey Johnno- next time I post, I will be sure to put in a :-)) or maybe a ;-) or even a "lol" just so ppl know I am only being lighthearted... Relax, are you Canadians all uptight ? remind me never to visit your country if I want to enjoy myself :-))) ;-) lol
OK I dont know where its leaking from, I can see no leaks anywhere, which makes me think it's most likely head gasket or something...
Oh this is too hard :-)) ;-) lol i will just have to go to my local dealer where the labour charge is 5 times higher than a doctor will charge you to deliver a baby :-)) ;-)) lol and grin and bear it

One thing you could try to see if you have a head gasket leak that is affecting your loss of antifreeze.

1: Look at the dip-stick, does it have a color that does not look right.

2: Look at the oil filler cap and area where you add oil -- does it have a lot of light tan color gunk looking stuff there.

3: Do you have white smoke coming out of the tail pipe either during the engine warm up period OR when the car is fully warmed up and hot.

4: Smell the tail pipe -- does it have an antifreeze smell to it.
