Hello,

I have a carburetor from a 1985 Canadian model Pony.

This is not the Excel (Pony)

The carb is only marked "Changwon carbureter", "made in Korea"

It is a progressive 2 barrel, (choke), with a manual cold start butterfly.

The bores are 28mm and 32mm

any help is very welcome

Jim

I got the gaskets from my local Hyundai dealer, at the parts counter.

I haven't opened my carb yet because it started working very nicely once I plugged in the vaccuum hoses underneath the air filter, but the gaskets needed to put it back together cost me ~$35 CAD.

I don't know that Hyundai would have the needle and floats etc but I expect they probably do. I have not been able to find it at Lordco, Canadian Tire, or any other local parts distributor.

hi taxidriver - I am also taking a look at my Changwon carb in a 1985 Pony. I think the floats might be stuck or something - gas shoots up in the air when I try to start it [with the air filter assembly taken off].

Did you have any luck with finding replacements?

Hi all. I made the original inquiry about these carbs, was intending to install them on Suzuki Samurai vehicles.

Actually found some original hundai partial rebuild kits but was unsuccessful making either of the 2 carbs I have run satisfactory.

so I have 2 carbs with associated rebuild kit parts available to post to someone in need for a reasonable offer

e-mal contact is ok via info (at) clmstudio (dot) com

Has anyone tried the webcon replacement carb?
