I removed the 4 axil hub mounting bolts from the backing plate but I cannot remove the hub and bearing assembly from the brake assembly housing. There is a lagre nut with a small crimp in it on the back side of the housing, does that need to be removed or is the assembly just stuck? Thanks.

Dear 356,

Go to hmaservice.com and register.

go to Shop, Sonata, 2001.

Click Suspension
Click Rear Suspension
Click Removal and Installation

Also, click Components and Component Location for a nice diagram.

Thanks Byron. I did before I posted and I noticed it mentions removing a tone wheel. I never heard of this. What the heck is a tone wheel?
