Hey all my Scoupe turbo has been parked for 2 weeks now. i cant get it to spark. To day the Megasquirt guru was at my place and he says the crank angle sensor is unable to count the teeth? thats why the ecu can not give off a spark/ is not able to start/starting.

So after my initial engine rebuild the car was sent home cos it would not start. So i tested the crank angle sensor and it did not show continewity or give off a resistance= sensor is fucked right? so i pull out the sensor and notice a dent in the crank angle sensor. So i get a Replica of a accent it fits perfect. gives a resistance value and show continewity. but still the car cant fire.

So the megasquirt guy test the ecu and All the wiring and says the Crank sensor is not giving the signal. so eithe the flywheel is not alined. teeth are bent or there are teeeth missing. so i phone hyundai and ask them WTF is going on and they say the scoupe flywheel can only bolt on one way and doesnt need to be alined.

so they are sending someone out tommorow on a sunday but i dont know what they are going to check. all i can think is they will bring a coil pack and a crank angle sensor with. but all Hyundai crank angle sensors must be 60-2 as a accent 1500 also has 60-2.( and thats a entry level hyundai) So its logical a 16/18/2000cc will also have a 60-2 and either ay a 60-2 is a 60-2.

How do i sove any suggestions?

Hey schwitzer whats happening dude are sure everything is connected.
Check over the whole wiring loom and make sure its all connected the right way
if you do it on a weekend when your not working you wont get stressed out so quick the problem is proberly stareing you right in the face but you might be rushing or its to dark to see. Trust me somtimes when ive finished a car it wont start and its to dark cant see anything but in the mourning i normally find it youll find it. Like i tell my boys in my shop doubble check and tripple check cos its always easy.

I had a problem starting my 93 SCoupe turbo after my rebuild too. I'm not sure what if anything it is doing but mine did nothing at all. after changing the distributor system it ended up being the 3 ground wires behind the intake manifold. it gets frustrating but keep working it will be worth hearing it startup.

BTW my crank did 270hp, then put a conrod threw the block and is still good to go (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grin.gif)
In comparsion to the toyota cranks the hyundai's and much much thicker so i doubt we will ever see a snapped crankshaft on a hyundai.
