We recently purchased a Nissan Rogue. On one of the Rogue forums there was a post indicating that H+R had firmer replacement springs for the vehicle. I went online at 'hrsprings.com' and discovered they make tuner springs for the Azera. $349 for a set of four. Unfortunately for me, there is no distributor here in Iowa. Talked to them on the phone (888 8278881) and they said the springs were engineered to work with the existing suspension components. They have distributors in many states. Maybe one in yours. Would like feedback if someone decides to go for it.

My friend has HR on his BMW 330ci. He doesnt have any complaints. I had Intrax aftermarket springs on one of my earlier cars I did autoX with, they were decent, but sagged after a while. Not sure if HR have a reputation for sagging, but Intrax seems to. I doubt intrax would ever make springs for the azzy anyways.

Tirerack is a distributor for H&R, they dont have their website up to date with all the models, but I but if you called the them they would order them for you and ship them out. I've seen them online at various stores I've never heard of for about $220

Hey thanks cdmuile,
The OEM springs are soft but I'm may be all wrong but I don't think the problem is the springs per se.

Good double action shocks should damp just about any soft spring within reason of course. Firmer springs will/may help the wallowing of course but all things being equal make the ride harder than it already is. A questionable trade off.

At the end of the day it's the design specs of the entire strut. Would firmer springs make the "clunks" go away that many are complaining?

I don't see Hyundai fixing this as it is systemic in the Azera line. IMHO the best we can expect would be Hyundai replacing to those complaining OR we do a complete front and rear aftermarket replacment... front sturts, rear spring and shocks at our expense. Hyundai may just dig in and not replace any of them... that's what Honda does...they "work" as "designed" gets them off the hook AND the lemon laws.

They won't, they don't have the stones to admit they screwed up. Plus, many of their bottom-feeding US dealers stonewall this issue or plead ignorance.

I don't doubt for one minute Hyundai does monitor web sites like this so they know that we know they screwed up. How they respond will certainly affect future sales from the existing owners.

But they also know at their pricing they're bound to keep getting new buyers so losing a few like us won't matter... Honda does it as part of their marketing "strategy". It's cheaper to loose a few customers than fixing a systemic problem in a whole line of cars. However if somewhere down the line Azera with bad front ends cause accidents... then it becomes a safety issue and it's a new ball game the NHTSA gets involved... for what its worth. This current adminstation has taken the teeth out of it.

If anyone here has an accident or "near miss" because of the suspension file a complaing with the NHTSA http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/

It's sad but I think that is what it'll take for a fix. Hey!......maybe we can talk Brazzel :innocent: into claiming :whistling: it was the suspensions fault..........
