Hi,

New to the site and need a bit of help. I've just inherited a 2000 Hyundai accent 1.5 mvi and i am getting a couple of warning lights on the dash. I get teh ABS light and the Brake light on from startup. The brakes aren't making any strange noises and they seem to be pulling up ok.

Sadly i don't have the manual so can't check, does anyone know what the lights mean?

the ABS light warns you of a system fail on the anti-lock system on the brakes and the brake light staying on mean that the brake fluid is low or there is a fault on the handbrake switch, you should get this checked out

Did you always get the warning lights (i.e. when you were given the car), or have they suddenly appeared? Have you checked the fuses?

There is a ABS controller fuse in the driver's footwell fusebox [I think there are a couple of ABS related fuses in this fusebox]. Ignore those in the engine-bay fusebox.

BTW, let me know if you've already solved the problem.
