OK. I have recently purchased a 2001 H-1 van fitted with the 2476cc D4BH (TCi) engine.
And very nice it is too. However it does require a good service and some tlc .
So one of the tasks is to change all the belts. I have received parts to do the job from my Hyundai dealer. So I have started the job and got as far as the bottom part of the timing belt cover -
which will not come off!
So, looks like I have to remove the external drive belt pulley to do this. How do I proceed?

I have managed to glimpse inside the cover and to my surprise found that there are in fact 2 belts!
So, my dealer has not done a very good job in supplying me with only one belt and tensioner for a
vehicle that requires 2 :innocent:

Does anyone know where I can get a workshop manual?

Hope someone can help cos I've not been able to find out very much at all about these vehicles
- and I really need to be back on the road.

Booney

PS: I'm new here, why not have a drink with me in New members forum!

:460:

So, look's like I'll be answering myself then! (Oh, what the heck - I spend most of the time talking to myself anyway!!!)

In the great forum spirit I'll share my new found knowledge. That's supposing that there's
ANYONE else in the world that wishes to tackle this job!
Go to here:-
http://www.forum-auto.com/pole-technique/s...sujet261509.htm

OK, it's in french but most of it can be understood looking at the diagram and following the
numbered steps. If anyone needs help then please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Meanwhile I await the delivery of the 2nd cam-belt so that I may proceed - (The Hyundai dealer
was a little embarrassed sending just one, so has granted me a discount and free shipping!)

Hope to be back on the road soon

sorry that nobody has answered your question. how far have you got? that crankshaft pulley bolt is very tight and would normally need an air socket gun to remove it, if you have managed to do this the most important thing is to make sure all your timing marks are lined up before you remove the two belts and then be sure that nothing moves while you are fitting the new ones, ifyou have any more problems please come back yo us

 no need to be sorry!

Yes the bolt was tight (170-190NM). Now it's the pulley that won't come off! (I've borrowed a puller from a friend, hope that'll work) As I've mentioned I am now a little wiser thanks to the French-
forum(link above). So, should all be straight forward - once the pulley's off!
I would also be interested to hear from anyone else with an H-1 van to share information, ect.

B)

montego - I have checked it out,of course.

But unfortunately doesn't help me - I need specific technical information so that I can service this
vehicle correctly.
Valve clearances? Cam/timing belt tension settings? Torquesets for everything?!!!

As yet I've not found anyone on this planet that will release all of this to me,
but I'm still searching.......... :57:

:00000732:

& Thanks. Already found via the French forum that I mentioned earlier.

It enabled me to complete the job and be confident that all is correct.

What I would really like is a proper workshop manual..........
