Hello everyone.

I have a 2005 Hyundai Tucson 2.7 V6 and as of late, I've been having a problem with it.
I'll try to explain it as best as possible.

When I drive around 35-40mph, the RPM starts to jump up and down. It also does it when I'm driving 65-70mph on the freeway. And only once it stalled out on me right as I turned the car on and started to reverse.

None of the lights seemed to dim or anything and after it stalled, it fired right back up. It seems random when it does this, it's not an everyday thing.

I'm assuming it's something fuel related? I was thinking something with the transmission but had it flushed recently as well as an oil change.

Any help would be more than appreciated.

Thanks!

Hello. This never happened on my Tucson, but my old man had a similar problem with his Mitsubishi. I think it was either his crankshaft or his camshaft sensor. He would get the stall thing after an engine surge. And then it would start right back up. It was actually like a 'plug in and drive' thing. But he had to pay a 'tech' even though based on the 'tech' saying it was a common problem he must have known what it was right off. LOL had to pay the tech for plugging the car into an engine computer etc.

Check it out...btw my advice was free.!!

Good luck.

Hi dankest

As stated by tucsonbgi its possibly one of the sensors gone haywire.

I take it your Tucson is still within the warranty period so I would take it back to the dealer to get it checked out as a problem like this could be serious if it happened at the wrong time.

Cheers
Itza
