This is my first post. I am 24, 25 next month. I am engaged and getting married next week. I have a 2 yr. old from a previous relationship. I am a shop manager at a custom cabinet shop. In my free time I spend time with the kid and future wife. I work 4 ten hour days, so I have 3 day weekends. Its awesome. I try to play my PS3 when possible, but only get about 3 maybe 4 hours a week in.

i cheated a bit though... i didnt get a sheet of plexiglas and cut it to fit.... i found a 1.5 gallon stater aquarium that would fit nicely.. i used the metal subframe inside and saved two of the boards for mounting.. the back looks origanal, plugs, switch... i drilled out one of the "COM" ports os put my LED plug in there, hot glued it and ran wires to original power switch! filled it last nite, water conditioner today, and maybe fish tonite... maybe tomo...

BTW, TOOSLO, im smoking Pork Chop steaks on the grill tonite.. LOL

they about an inch thick!!

Haha, that looks awesome Tooslo. I have a SE/30 that I almost did that to, but it still runs so it seems like a waste.

Well, I'm single, 35, 6'7" and weigh in at 252. I own a small electronics consultation business that helps folks decide the best television to buy, what to do about the analog/digital switch coming in '09, and computer repair/training. Basically, it's anything involving electronics. Heck, last week I helped one of my clients figure out how to use his Roomba. (robotic vacuum) I also build websites for clients including larger companies and my own family. For those who are bored and feel like pokin' around my family website address is www.famweb.net. One of my many hobbies is fish. I mostly deal with Koi ponds and have built several over the years.

These past few months though have been slow 'cause I had to step up and help out my grandma. She's 85 and was recently diagnosed with congestive heart failure. I've been working over at her house pretty much 7 days a week, and even brought in some friends looking for work to help. According to her doctor, she needs someone with her at all times. She doesn't want to go in a "home" and would rather spend the rest of her days in her own home. Can't blame her. She can't afford to hire an in-home care staff, so I put one together for her. It's been tough for everyone, but I only have one grandma and my grandpa passed away recently leaving her a widow from a marriage of 60+ years. Some people don't even live that long let alone be married that long.

Overall, I'm pretty boring. I like cruising to the local casino once in a blue moon and sometimes actually win money, although I usually end up just "donating to the indians".

Anyway, this is a nice thread. Let's us all get an idea of what type of people buy and drive Accents. Hopefully, someone at Hyundai might read this and realize that the "type" is everybody, not just someone looking for a "good deal", or with bad credit, or couldn't afford something else, etc.

mom and i had to keep an eye on gram her last 6-7 years.. she was still pretty witty, bright and full of humor! she was just gettin old and wasnt gettin around as easily. we also were tossin around the idea of a nursing home if she ever fell.. well, she didnt need a home or staff, she was that stubborn! if you ever want to talk about stuff, frustrations, bad day, whatever, gimme a PM.. it can get to ya sometimes, and i think having someone to talk to would be helpful... just remember to keep an open mind, a sense of humor and give her a hug whenever you leave to go back to your house....

the last couple evenings i've been biking around the delta watershed (wooded park/trail rides) on my new to me '06 gary fisher cobia (29eR) andi's been an absolute blast!

doing it for fun & fitness, gotta drop a few excess pounds before kiteboarding season is in full swing... and it's coming up fast! i think i may get out to a beach this weekend w/ my best friend for a practice rigging session just so we're both crystal clear on rigging, launching & landing - well, moreso him, so that when the wind's cranking and we hit squamish it's straight into the drink for a rip vs. piddling around on the beach trying to refresh his memory of the basics from the lesson he took last season.

riding a 29eR has been the cats ****, imo. i've been able to just haul arse over logs and roots and log piles i always used to get hung up on w/ a standard 26eR. it's kind of like cheating... only more fun. :D

so this year looks like: biking, kiteboarding (surf), camping in mid july, snowboarding the blackcomb glacier at the end of july, to kiteboarding (land in the fall) then onto selling mass quantities of snowboards ( http://www.truesnowboards.com ) and of course snowboarding/demoing at seymour/cypress/grouse/whistler/blackcomb, then in february i might make a trip to montana for an annual snowkiting event on a frozen lake i've gone to twice in the past, then kiteboarding local beaches & land in the spring again, biking when there's no wind... and somewhere in there i'm supposed to be working, which is very highly over rated. :P

I like this thread, I should have read it before now... everyone here is so good at sharing. LOL  Sounds kind of like personal ads though... :P

I'm 31, single (not that I enjoy being alone, but I seem to attract all the real jerks). I work at a Hyundai dealership in the parts department and LOVE IT. I've always been obsessed with cars. I'm also pretty good with mechanical stuff and some electronics. I had to learn all of that kind of stuff on my own by necessity when my dad left my mom when I was in high school. Times got really tough for us and we had to learn how to make due with a 10 year old car with over 160k miles on it (a 1985 Ford Tempo). So I bought my first Chilton's manual and I've been teaching myself ever since. I absorb information from any source and retain it very well. This job gives me all the parts information I could ever want to know about Hyundais, plus gives me enough exposure to the shop for me to learn everything I can about the mechanical aspects of Hyundais. This, in turn, I can share with my friends. One of my biggest recent accomplishments was redoing all of the dash backlighting in my 01 Tiburon from white to all blue LEDs. It was quite a job, but I learned to perfect my soldering skills. It turned out very nice, but doesn't matter anymore because I traded it in on this Accent SE I bought two weeks ago.

My work background before this consists mainly of Fire Department and EMS. I worked on the Fire Department as a Firefighter/EMT, then went to school and got my Paramedic certification. I loved helping people but was working for a private ambulance company that treated their employees like crap. I got tired of being asked to cut corners and use crappy cheap equipment when people's lives were in my hands, so I got out of the business altogether. Left a pretty sour taste in my mouth.

But all is good now, I'm in automotive heaven... lol, well, maybe not, but I still like my job. I work 6 days a week (can you say OVERTIME?), but when I'm not at work I'm a pretty boring person. I used to drink a lot when I was a Paramedic, but I don't really do that anymore. Maybe once in a blue moon, then I'm reminded of why I stopped doing that. I like to read, watch movies (I love scary movies), surf the net and meet new people. I like nature documentaries (told you I was boring :innocent: ), and like to try to invent new recipes every now and then. Sometimes it turns out good, sometimes not so good. :whistling: I love to drive, and my dream job would be some kind of test driving of new cars, or racing on a road coarse. I don't know if such a job exists, but until then I'll just keep peddling Hyundai parts.

Quick intro won't hurt I suppose...

I'm 25, going on 26... I'm a software developer by trade and I enjoy electronics and cars as hobbies. The bulk of my time is dedicated to maintaining and updating my house and helping out friends/family with various home/car/etc projects. The rest of my time, I spend hanging out with my girlfriend , my beagle and my friends/coworkers. I like to play video games when I get a chance, but usually working on a car or other project comes before that...
