Here ya go. The official pricing.

"Entry level" up in price approx. 10% from the original propaganda. The combined Korean / Fountain Valley arrogance must resemble raging hormones in the twin ivory towers.

Look at their marketing, (lack of) and US dealer network (bottom feeders).

What are they smoking?

Pricing was affected by weakened dollar. They are launching with a $80 Million dollar budget and they have ramped up with specialized training on Genesis, Sales and Service. You will notice quite a difference when you go into to look at this car. Hyundai has learned their lesson from the mistakes with the Azera launch.

"launching with a $80 Million dollar budget and they have ramped up with specialized training on Genesis, Sales and Service. You will notice quite a difference when you go into to look at this car. Hyundai has learned their lesson from the mistakes with the Azera launch".

Don't be so sure. If they spend anything on training dealer personnel it will be the first time in a row.

With regards to looking at the car, one of the Korean suits was recently quoted as saying all US dealers will be expected to "highlight" Genesis in a portion of the showroom. The Hyundai dealer closest to me (Los Angeles) has a 3 vehicle showroom, highlighting Lincolns and Mercurys. At that dealer location, and most others, Hyundai is the secondary product line.

Their Fountain Valley Minister of Propaganda can "say" they are upgrading, but not the way Toyota / Lexus did in '89.

I don't see how Hyundai is going to coax high end consumers into their somewhat "dingy" showrooms without a major overhaul. Those of us who are car buffs can overlook the lack of red carpet service but how will they get the BMW customer in without some "cuddling"? I am going to wait for some time before I consider switching out of my Azera and Sonata. :amen:

Some people are sticker shocked from this Hyundai, in my opinion it is almost 10,000 less than a comparable BMW 5 series, Lexus GS and Infinti M series. It Cost about $150 less than standard spec BMW 328I.

I'm gonna wait until 2012 before i buy a Genesis it will be CPO 2-3 yr old Genesis.

The difference is more like $15,000+. My site includes a unique price comparison tool that generates thorough price comparisons quickly.

There is one "little fly in the ointment". A number of dealers, mine included, have tacked on "dealer add ons" to the full retail price. My dealer has a $5995. add on and I told them it was out and out gouging. You would have to be desperate and a complete fool to buy at this time with those kind of prices. I test drove a "basic" model, $33,000 plus the $5995 add on making a total of $39,000 with tax and other assorted fees you are looking at over $40,000. for a base model. Hyundai will surely shoot itself in the foot just as they have done with the Azera, and Veracruz as well as Entourage. Next year, this time the "pickins" will be ripe. They will be marking them down. The car is really nice, handles well, but not with dealers gouging potential customers. I will be sticking with my Azera and Sonata.

That's a great price for a fabulous car. Chances are the dealers will get resistance and then offer prices like you are getting. By the way who is your dealer and where are they located? Good luck. Don

I went with Darling's Hyundai located in Augusta Maine. they weren't the closest, but they did have the best price and all around seemed the best to work with. much easier dealings than the others.

Hey Everyone,

New to the forum, just got a great lease deal on a Genesis 3.8 with Premium Plus package. It seems the dealers here in Northern NJ are getting aggressive even though they say they want to make money on the few they have. Got $459 a month tax included with $699 out of pocket with 15K miles for 24 months. Very Happy about that.

Thanks atone8585, what helped was I had a $1500 dollar lease loyalty from Hyundai Financial since I was leasing a Sonata, plus I beat the dealers up pretty bad and they all wanted to lease me a Genesis real bad. Guess they wanted one of their cars on the road. I guess I also have great credit. LOL. Picking the car up on Friday!!!
