Hello All,
This is my first post.
I have just bought a new "ebony black" Getz 1.1L which seems to pick up scratches remarkably easily and I would like to know if this is a general problem with hyundai.
I have always driven ford cars before and comparatively they are less prone to this problem.
My Getz being black with a light grey primer/undercoat would tend to show up deep scratches easily but it does seem to be worse than I had imagined.

My blue 2005 Getz has had no paint problems. The coating seems as durable as my old 4WD.
If you suspect that your car paint has a problem being "soft", get an opinion from a body works / car painter - then take your car back to your Hyundai Dealer. It should be still under paint warranty (from memory it's 12, or 18 months). I think the warranty covers rust, bubbles, flaking, and soft paint.
