Hello,

I have a Hyundai accent 2003, which has recently been making a clicking/grinding noise when turning full lock.
It has been slowly getting worse over approximately 3-4 months and the service centre has not been able to give me any answers for this.

Has anyone else had these symptoms?

The sound itself is coming from the steering wheel column, within the car. It has nothing to do with belts or engine, and seems to be an on and off issue, as the services centre said they could not fault the steering or replicate it.

Basically we have been turned away from the service centre and given no answers except you must be mistaken... 4 master technicians have test drove the car and can not find an issue?

I would guess its a bad rack & pinion. They can grind & crunch if they're going bad.

if its at full steering lock would it be a cv joint going bad? My atvs do that when at full lock, you can feel the click in the handle bars. But if that is it and your service center could not tell then you definatly need to change your service center!

I was going to say that except they said the noise was coming from the steering wheel. I would think one could tell the difference between the steering wheel and out by the actual wheels.
