I searched first b4 posting.

I have a 2005 Elantra GLS and a GT.

How do I know which engine I have? My manuals mention both, but don't give a clue how to distinguish.

Loads of thanx for your help.

Wait.... you have two cars, a GLS and a GT? That's what it sounds like.

All 05s are CVVT; some are ULEV and some are SULEV.

CVVT = Continuously Variable Valve Timing
ULEV = Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle
SULEV = Super Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle

Most U.S. cars are ULEV, except for "California Emissions" (which I think are sold in states beside CA that have adopted stricter emissions standards).

I will take a look at my 05 and see if I can find where it specifies SULEV or ULEV.

I was told by someone that works at a Hyundai dealer that all elantra's 04 and up were SULEV.
