I just ordered an HID upgrade(h11). Has anyone done this on a 4g Elantra? I was wondering if I need to open the lens and remove the cup that covers the bulb.

Seeing the difference between the halogens and hids, I will never go back to halogens again. I wasn't expecting such a dramatic change. I would recommend this upgrade to every Elantra owner.

I dont change it. blue wire connected from turn signal go to the main connect in back oohh... but, those stand alone projectors, I dont understand. You dont need to cut or dril or remove anything on the lamp? I know about people that take apart lamps from an Audi for example and remove the projectors, then open up another lamp (elantra) and fit the projector there by some kind of home made mounting assembly.

Oh, I forgot: this projector is bixenon, so I have 4 HI lamp (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I also try find different modules from bmw, audi and so on. But this modules have big size for elantra. I know only one module with right size: halogen hella, but this hella will be monoxenon. But I want module for bixenon.

Thank you for posting the photos, great info! Aside from removing the glass, it seems very easy to install, just plug and attach the projector from the back? This installation is possible because the kit is specifically made for H7 right? That is why it is plug and play? Sorry by asking so much, but this modification looks so nice that I'm thinking about buying it. One more thing, how do you control the HI beam on your bi-xenon light? Did you just wire it with the factory HI beam, so when switching HI beam from the cabin it switches all 4 lamps? that's crazy man!! it should be like and stadium lights!! I didn't upgrade the reflector to projection, just installed the hid bulbs in the oem reflectors. I have the 1st gen HD without XM radio. The low beams are H11b and the highs are H1. There is a dramatic difference between the halogen and hid bulbs. The reflectors between the painted lines on the freeway glow a bright white for a 1/4 mile even in wet conditions. I would say there is a 80% improvement in vision over the stock bulbs. Everyone I give a ride to at night always comments on how nice and bright my lights are. I think the stock lenses handle the hid well, I only get around 2 flashes a month from oncoming cars.
