Hello,

Last week my 2001 Elantra wouldn' start. No Codes, engine turned over but wouldn't start.

I figured out it was the Crankshaft Position Sensor. I replaced it and the car started right up. No problems.

A few minutes later, the Check Engine light came on.

Code was a P0340 Camshaft Position Sensor.

I have erased the code with the ODBII scanner several times. The car seems to run fine, I've put 100miles on it since the changed the Crank sensor. Once I erase it, the light goes off and stays off until I turn the car off and start it up again.

Any ideas?

I'm sorry the thread jack but it may help you by bumping it. I am also having problems with this CPS, except mine is throwing a code 1 for the cps, and 1 for the MAF, I've noticed both of these sensors run into the same wire bundle so I am thinking maybe there is a common problem between the two, any idea's or similar problems out there?

The CPS was recently replaced but the code keeps coming back I dont know if there is a special way to set or install the camshaft position sensor or what but it keeps throwing a code.
