I got my brand new Hyundai i10 five weeks ago and loved it for the first week and a half before it stopped starting properly. It went into the garage a week and a half ago and i've had shocking customer service from Hyundai since! There is a problem with the imobiliser which is stopping the car starting and they have had to order a part from Korea!!!!
I had to argue to get a hire car, I haven't had a single apology for the garage or customer services and no one really seems to care!
I've been holding my temper on the situation until this morning when I had a phone call from customer services advising me that the part will not arrive in Belgium till 29th May and it will then take 5 days to arrive in the UK!
The whole situation is a complete joke as Hyundai have not planned having any parts available for their new cars and in fact had not even set up parts codes for the i10 so it took 24 hours for the part to even be ordered!
The car would be fantastic if it worked and the service and planning from Hyundai have been so bad I wish I'd never bought the thing and am considering asking for my money back!
The worst thing about the whole experience is Hyundai's lack of value for their customers. I had a Hyundai Accent for 7 years before this and I'm seriously regretting my loyalty!!!
Apologies for the rant as you can tell, i'm very unhappy frustrated and upset!

I appreciate they can't help the parts being delayed, but having worked in the motor industry up until recently I know that it takes very little effort to make a customer feel valued and to apologies for problems.
I really want to feel that Hyundai are guenuinely doing all they can to get me back in my car as soon as possible, but I'm really not convinced they are!
I did love the car, but the feeling is fading fast!
If I ever get my car back and don't dump it outside Hyundai UK's head office!!! I certainly won't be getting in serviced at the dealer in question I would very much like to go to another dealer with the current problem, but getting it moved will be an issue.
Thanks for your reply - I hope it's fixed soon too! :-(

I reckon it's just down to your dealer, here's my experience.
Three weeks ago i went with my father in law (he's 84) to try and do a deal with Charles Hurst (Northern Irelands biggest Hyundia dealer). Very disappointed with the trade in allowance and no amount of bargaining would shift the salesman. Next day tried Dan Dalys on Belfasts Falls Road a very small but well established Hyundia dealer, within 5 mins the trade in allowance had improved by £1000, so not surprisingly the F in law struck a deal for a comfort model in metallic blue.
Collected the car on Thursday 22nd, had travelled about 3 miles when the car cut out at traffic lights. Pushed it off the road and after a 20 min wait she started up and we made the last mile home albiet with the engine making a funny noise and a burning smell intruding into the cab.
Phoned Dan Daly who came out personally, he promised to have the car collected on Fri morning and promised to sort the problem.
He duly arrived Fri morn, but by this stage my F I L had decided he didn't want the car repaired and insisted on a new car, now here's the rub.
Not only did Daly agree to this, but he offered him a style model(£500 more) in the same colour at no extra cost, because he couldn't source another car of the same spec for 2 months.New car was delivered on Fri evening and so far is going well, so everybody's happy.
Neither myself or my F in law have had any experience of Hyundia before but if this is anything to go by we'll be back sooner rather than later.
Dan Daly is a credit to Hyundia authorised dealers.

I fully agree it depends on the dealer!
I actually bought my I10 from TWG Hyundai in Northwich Cheshire when I live in the Thames Valley. I went into Platts in High Wycombe and they could only get me a Comfort in Black and I would have had to wait 6 weeks for it. TWG is near where my parents live and although they didn't have a Blue Comfort in stock they bent over backwards to track one down and got it for me within a week offering me a great trade in for my old car having not even seen it.
The only down side is my Blue i10 Comfort is now in the garage and as TWG is so far away i've had to take it to a different dealer to be fixed and the service hasn't been great, I do think if I'd taken it back to TWG it would have been better.
If you're waiting for and i10 I would advise phoning round a few different dealers as some are definitely more helpful than others and may have stock coming in of the car you want.
I have heard about my car too and fingers crossed i'll have it back on Monday as the part is due to arrive tomorrow. I do love the car so I just want it back fixed!!
Keep your fingers crossed for me!

I HAVE MY CAR BACK!!!!!  :460:
Very happy to have it back as I have missed it and it is a great little car now it's back on the road.
Hyundai UK have sent me a letter of apology and offered to pay for my first service as compensation which is good.
Platts Hyundai in High Wycombe will not be getting paid for any servicing on my car though as i'm still unimpressed with their customer service. I went to pick up my car and was handed the keys and a bit of paper and that was it. None of the people I spoke to on the phone came out and spoke to me or even showed me to my car - Very poor!
Oh well i'm back on the road in my little i10 so hopefully it'll be happy driving from here on!
