I tend to mix it up. I like to push it hard a lot and also drive it like an economical car.

I try to push in the acclerator as little as possible, maybe half an inch most of the time unless there's someone behind me...

side note, I went to bp yesterday and they were out of regular gas, so they had a sign up on the pump saying to use premium for the same price, so I'm seeing if I get any noticeable change in mileage with premium gas.

I usually go a little bit above the speed limit.

if there are a lot of people crossing I drive the speed limit or lower.

sometimes I push it hard but not too frequently.

I drive like a grandma when I see a cop.

when somebody is behind (in the fast lane) and he is tail gating (usually people that dont give a sh¡t about anybody) I dont rush it because Im already 20-30 km/h above the speed limit.

Mine only gets driven like the economy car that it is... It's rare for me anymore to be doing the speed limit, usually I'm below. The tach never sees 3,000 RPM. Babying it is good for the planet and my wallet. That's how I make my statements to the world.

The only performance I care about is of the MPG variety. And these days I'm becoming pretty obsessive about it. :)

Well, I'm just about to turn 1,000 miles on mine. It's a 5 speed and I tried to break it in right. This morning on my way to work I decided to run it a little harder than I have been and I really enjoyed driving it. I'm pleasantly surprised with it's performance.

I've also got an '86 5.0 Mustang and while the Accent has nowhere near the power, it's still a lot of fun to drive. As I'm learning to shift it better and better, I'm thinking it will go 0-60 in under 9 seconds. On the interstate going 60 mph, it will run right up to 80 mph with little effort. I never expected that out of this car. I guess weighing less than 2500 lbs. has it's advantages. Not bad for $11,300 and still getting 34 mpg before break-in is done.

I usually let mine changeout between 2800-3500.Drive 75-80 in a 70,70 in a 65.So I guess I drive kinda moderately. If gas gets any higher I might take it a little easier.34 ain't bad but a little more wouldn't hurt.

Most the time on the floor and still get 28 mpg in the mountains. Gas was $3.85 yesterday I only had $20 bucks so that's 5 gallon, it put it to 3/4 a tank!!! Sweet, couldn't ask for no better.

When my wife lets me drive her Accent, I drive the Accent like I do my Dodge Caliber & my Ford Festiva, carefully. The Accent 5 speed can't be driven fast & get good MPG with the engine spinning 3500rpms or more. I do love to get 10+% higher MPG than others may get. It like enlarging the gas tank 10+% & then you drive past all the gas stations. I'm not a hypermiler, but it is fun to get the big MPGs.

Several times I've carried an extra 5 gallons of gas in the Festiva & penetrate deep into the wilds of eastern Oregon. Upon leaving the wilds I wouldn't gas up for 700+ miles till I got back to Washington state. Love staying away from gas stations.

Also, it's like picking up $10 or $20 off the ground...only I don't have to bend over. Don't have to do anything, except stay away from gas stations. ha ha ha :whistling:

I drive mine pretty hard, always shifting high and usually going 70-80 on the highway. I usually get 275 miles out of a tank. This past week I got 350 when my gas light came on, but i had done a lot of highway driving, and actually i spent a lot of time in traffic too.

I just drive it. It seems to like being treated moderately. Step on it when you need to(merging), cruise the rest of the time. I like to drive alittle fast now and again. Consistancy is more important then speed. I take my time getting up to the speed I want to drive and just keep it there. I should know my MPG by the end of the week. The car has less than 40 miles on it right now, so it will be awhile before it's broken in and I really get a feel for it.

Rob

At almost $1.30 a litre, I take my time ...

Still only getting around 40miles to a imperial gallon though.
