I think there is no real releaf in sight, as who would go to the cost of setting up more oil refinery's, when no garantee of profit long term. it's just how it is for both diesel and petrol, and if you don't drive diesel you will still pay indirectly. just have to get used to it.
but remember there is LPG you only need a small bottle as it runs with the diesel fuel, cuts your diesel useage 20% also add's power just would need Bob to work out how long it would take to recover the additional outlay but i'm saving $ no matter as i was runing a V8 was easy in the bush only used 9 to 11 liters depending how you drive but in the city as you idle a lot could not really control useage would be 13 to 15 liters per 100k depending on how bad traffic is. and i like to use 98 octain. but i'll keep that ute i drive it once a week to work and use it for transporting my toys. so the diesel will still seem cheap to me at $2 a liter
