That's a very refined read. Only got to page 4 tho (have to look busy sometimes).

Interesting how the volatility of diesel demand reflects the flow of it in and out of Oz.

2007 - imported 3300 ML from Singapore, exported 91 ML to Sigapore.

Nice find Dazz

Thank M8,

You read more than me!

Bottom line for me is cost at pump.. we might have to join forces with other forums mostly driven by Diesel owners to shake up the UK and Aus Governments RE: their diesel pricing policy! :whistling:

Well despite my UK gov taking around 72% tax "at the pump", world fuel prices aren't helping any of us.

My local filling station had diesel at £1.27/litre this morning, which is AUD 2.59 in your money. Would you like to swap countries?

Nah, didn't think so :bwekk:

Yes that's what was on the board. I should have taken a photo!

Well spotted but it is pricey in UK

Should be £1.299

Hard day at the office is my excuse!

i got diesel for $1.63, last week and last night same servo it was 1.69, when i went out to Dubbo ( west NSW) diesel was selling for $1.81 must be hard for country people and farmers that use a lot of equipment that runs on diesel.
LPG is $0.65 per litre can fit that to diesel only need a small LPG tank ( were would we put that?) and can cut fuel useage by 20% and increase power.
or you can try cooking oil like my m8 down Bondi Beach

Hi Dazz,
interesting reading. What struck me was the tables on page9 through 11. The average cost of deisel went from around $106pl to $124pl over a three year period between January 05 and December 07. Just 18cents per litre in three years!
I have had my I30 for just under 4 months now. The first time I filled up I i paid around $147pl. Today the shell down the street want $178.9, a rise of 32cents per litre in under 4 months. Someone making a buck!!

Was looking at diesel prices here in Sydney today some servo's want 30cent per L for diesel above what they ask for unlead others are 20cent per L more, makes me think as the Government are watching there unlead price and trying to peg it down, they are making up the difference but ripping off diesel users.
but in the end everyone will eventually pay as most everything gets delivered to shops and so on with diesael powered trucks.
what do you recon Dazz?

Hi John,

Although the Yanks are much cheaper than us with Diesel and Petrol they have had a big increase in diesel price over the last 12 months (according to that latest site I posted a link to) So sounds like there won't be any relief just yet. :(

You are probably right about Diesel price increasing freight and indirectly increasing everything else (If we could convince the Government about that we might be able to get them to do something!) :whistling:

Cheers,

Dazz

Dazz, i have spent time in USA, mostly in the south, and i never call them Yank's mate! if you call a person in the south a yank they think you are calling them a yankee, mate they take offence really bad. my friend over there drives a VW jetta TDI he told me they still used the old type diesel fuel but were upgrading to low sulphire so they could get the euro diesel cars , so by now they should have same diesel as euro and here. must cost more to poduce?

Sorry guys gotta have my 10cents worth tonight

My father in law works for Shell and tells me it is actually cheaper to refine diesel compared to Unleaded fuel. So in theory diesel should be 20c less a litre than unleaded but reality is like always we are being ripped off.

Let set the record straight ozzies.

The generic term used by ozzies is poms but to my m8 Shambles I'm a SCOUCER (from Liverpool) and Shambles is a MANC (from Manchester).

We are bitter football rivals but i30 best m8's/buddies.

Would you agreed Shambles!

Man U 2 Chelsea 1 tonight

Well to me Eye you and Shambles are both good blokes with good ol school humour. BUT you should have been watching the state of Origin lastnight! :) as the Blue's won :)
look at it this way the Blue's have the Bondi Beach Topless girl's cheersing them on and the Queensland Cain Toads have the surfers paridice meter maids with bikinis on cheering them
hey did you know how that term POM came about?
all it means is Prisoner Of Mother England, so i think we are probably all Pome :)
