Oh dear, my first real emergency issue with my Santy. Fired her up this morning and went to move my chair back into position after wifey had used car yesturday and nothing??

Checked fuse and it had blown? Checked for fault by putting the 30amp blower fuse and it popped before I could get the fuse in fully?? Yes the ignition was switched off?

now 2 x 30amp fuses down I took a very cramped drive down to Halfords and bought some more fuses, All of which have done the same thing. Very Weird.

So I have replaced my blower fuse but I am left with a seat that I can't adjust and I have a 100 mile commute to deal with tomorrow... :w00t:

Anyone got any ideas? Do you think it's worth calling the Hyundai recovery? my wife will not be able to drive me to work so I'm scuppered.

Help......

you have obviously got a dead short on the seat motor or cable, unless this fault is found you will not be able to do anything, hate to say it but you are going to need the help of your dealer or auto electrian. do not try to put in larger fuses as you could make matters worse, even cause a fire

I guessed there was something quite wrong with this situation....

TBH: I'm not going anywhere near that fuse panel after the pop from the last fuse.

WANTED: VERY Small person to drive my car 45 miles to Hyundai dealership.

This is where Hyundai let themselves down, dealers are scarce in the UK and I guess this is quite a simple fix. only problem is I can't get to my dealer as driving my car with my knees around my chin is quite dangerous and the missus is not available??

Do you think Hyundai recovery will help?

ALL Sorted...!

WOW! I called Hyundai recovery and the RAC raised a support call. The patrol officer arrived in Eight Minutes!!

When he arrived he noticed that the drivers seat had trapped one of the power cables between the runner rails and the seat and commenced to actually FIX the fault for me...!

He cut and repaired and re-routed the cables enabling me to get to work tomorrow and left me some documentation that I need to take to the dealer in my own time asking them to replace the cables..

All I can say is TOP TOP Marks to the RAC.!! The patrol officer went way above his remit as he didn't really HAVE to fix this issue, but went ahead and did it anyway.

He mentioned during his visit that this was the first Santa Fe he had ever seen. Which I took to be a good sign.

Thanks Montego for the pointer.

Could you explain "RAC membership"? Is this something just in the UK? Perhaps it's similar to AAA in the States and CAA in Canada. Thanks
