Please don't get sucked in. Most of that is the dealership's attempt at wieght reduction of your wallet. Especially the fuel injection cleaning. With today's cleaner gasoline, that is rarely (if ever) needed. 50,000 to 60,000 miles is a more realistic avaerage for the more expensive maintanence work. Keep up on the regular stuff of oil changes, tire pressure/rotation, air filter etc.

QUOTE(jestic @ May 18 2008, 12:39 AM) Hello Everyone: I'm coming up on almost 36,000 miles and I just recieved a letter from my dealership saying that there is a service for my car at that mileage. Does anyone know what it consist of? Im thinking if its something I can do myself, then I would do it myself. TIA. Jestic Hi I found a great tool over at Edmunds http://www.edmunds.com/maintenance/MaintenanceServletThis is what my LX should see in the next Month for the 15K. I'll bring this printout to the dealer. They will probably just laugh! This post has been edited by MiamiLX: May 18 2008, 08:02 PM

QUOTE(jestic @ May 18 2008, 08:17 PM) Thanks for the reply's guys. Yeah, I keep up with all my changes. I change my oil every 4000 miles ( i use full synthetic ) and I just changed my tranny fluid less than 1000 miles ago. Thanks for all the help. If you are using Mobil1 synthetic, you can buy 5 quarts of mobil 1 or mobil1 extended performance with mobil1 oil filter for $26.98 at advance auto parts. This deal ends this month. I'm not sure how good mobil1 oil filters are but they are $10 each at regular price. Or as you may know, you can just get a 5-quart jug at walmart for $22.88.

QUOTE(Tommer @ May 18 2008, 07:53 PM) When you go into the stealer, TELL THEM EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT THEM TO DO! I had a coupon for a $39.00 oil change, and instead of the oil change, they did a 12000 km service. I SH_T myself when the bill was triple digits, or close to it. ($129???) They reluctantly reduced it, and then complained that they can't make any money at $39. Not MY problem... Be warned - there's PIRATES about!!! Don't you sign an Authorization, or an Estimate of Charges before they can touch your Car? First I found out there are no 'Pay at the Pump' Pumps in BC, now this. Do you guys get free Dentists too?

QUOTE(craigbrooks @ May 18 2008, 08:21 PM) Minimum 30K....no doughnuts for you. One year! :bwekk: BTW I did mine at 26 he did his at 35......hmmmm :460: My may be out of line, but I have to call on this one :w00t: I've had 17 vehicles since my driving career began in 1970, including 3 classic cars and a 20 yr old 1988 pickup with never a tranny fluid change, or failure. 1 exception-had the 1972 Buick Riviera first time fluid change last fall. Mechanic said after 35 years the tranny fluid and inside parts looked in quite good shape. I don't understand in this day of 100,000 mile tuneups, and 5 year antifreeze changes, why anyone would consider a tranny fluid change at just 36,000 miles.

QUOTE(willsboattail @ May 19 2008, 10:16 PM) why anyone would consider a tranny fluid change at just 36,000 miles. My guess would be paranoia. Keeping the warranty intact only requires ATF replacement at 105,000 miles. As we know, most maintenance intervals are written in favor of the company's interest, not the owners'. As such, I'm sure even 105,000 miles is a conservative estimate.
