Hi guys, first own topic in this forum. Very helpful topics! I've search the existing topics and I can't find anyone related to this problems, so here it goes

OK, my car has almost 20K Kms in the ODO... since the 5K Kms I've been notice a single "tock" sound coming from the driver windows when it is going up, and only happens when you go from completely open towards close. The weird thing is that it only happens when opening nor when closing neither when opening i.e. from half close to full close. Hyundai says that they have lubricated the mechanism, adjusted and cleaned it at the 3 shop visit. I'm wondering if it is a common problem or I have an actual problem with the window.

Aside from this particular sound, the window work perfect, it opens automatically, the speed is not affected by this sound, no noticeable forcing sound coming from the electrics motors, nothing.

If anyone have ever heard about something like this please let me know. Thanks guys.

Sounds familiar... It's no big deal. Happens to me too. I found our there is some 'free moving space' between some parts of the window mechanism. Worry only if u hear some sort of chrunching sound while closing the window.

cheers,
Mark

thank you Mark for your answer... let me see if I understood that... What you meant to say is that there is a moment when the windows is closing that the mechanism ratchet itself?

I hear 'ratchet' sound the moment I press up button (from window being fully down). All sprocket-wheels are ok - I checked. So if u hear this sound when window is in some other position (and going up), it could be sprocket-wheel. And NO, power windows must go up quietly and not like some sort of ratchet-jack...

cheers!
