My new i30 diesel auto has just had its first 1,000 service. The cost was included in the purchase price. The quote for my next service due at 7,500km is $210 from one authorised dealer and $150 from another also authorised dealer 15 mins drive away. Seems to me there is a good case for shopping around.

I have also been quoted $470 for a spare key pad. Seems incredibly expensive. Even my Falcon key pad was only about $75. Has anyone brought a second i30 keypad and if so how much from where?

Hi JarrahBark,

We got our 2nd key fob (pad) simply by asking (dealer regestered it as a customer complaint).

Try this thread for further information: Spare Remote Key

You'll have to sift through the info as it gets :offtopic: quite a bit.

Bob

Many thanks Rob,

I think our dealer covered themselves by giving us a remote keypad and a manual door lock key with the sale. I am certainly going to try hard to either get a second remote or at least find a lower price. Cheers

Mac,

Everyone seems to have a remote and a manual key. It is just that some of us were successful in getting a 2nd remote free. Now all new i30s come with 2 remote keys.

Nice one, thanks Rob. I took delivery of mine on 4th April after a long wait for the diesel auto so you have certainly supplied me with the lever to prize anther remote out of the dealer. Cheers
