Not sure about overseas models but the Australian models don't come with the icons you mentioned on the steering wheel. In Australia it is only available as an accessory item and it is fitted near the top of the windscreen column.

You can see this in the following Hyundai Australia website

Not on UK Premium model, which is a pity. I use a mobile hands-free receiver.

I would imagine pairing won't be a problem. Perhaps you have to keep the car's phone button depressed for a short while then enter pin number 0000 on the Nokia (assuming the default pin on the i30 is "0000") when prompted.

Looking at the last picture, I would suggest that it is trying to say,

If the mobile phone as a cable that pluggs into the bottom of the phone and connects to the car, then the second "audio"cable (as shown in the pciture) is not needed. It is likely that the main power / data cable show coming out of the bottom of the phone has both power and Audio included in the cable, therefore a seconcard cable is not needed.

If the phone is bluetooh then there should be not need for any cables.

These are just my guess but an educated one IMHO...!

Hey Python,

Do you also have Smartkey? That is you don't have to insert a key to start the car? It looks a bit like it in one of your photos.

and Shambles no smart comments about Pythons "Front Bottom" please...

Cheers,

Dazz

yes, i got 2 smart keys and usually putting my key in my pocket and just turn the 'knob' to start the engine. great feature but if i get out of the car to.. say buy something in the street shop, i wonder will the engine turn off itself since the detection fail to detect a key?

really cool feature to lock/unlock the car by pressing the button on the driver/passanger door wihtout pressing the remote.

Hi Python,

Thanks for that info, not many cars in our class come with that feature over here (not an option on the i30 in Aus) Can only think of the Mitsubishi Lancer VRX...

Cheers,
