Hi,
On my way to buy either a Maxima or M35, I was encouraged to stop by and see/test drive an Azera. My wife and I walked away more than impressed. Unfortunately all the local dealers are out of stock on the Limited with nav. and it will be some weeks before any are available. I would like to get some feedback from forum members who are currently using the model with nav and bluetooth.
Are you generaly happy with the performance of both? Lastly, the only problem I had driving the car was reading the information display. It was difficult to read in the daylight. Is this adjustable and is anyone else having difficulty in reading the information on the display? Thanks for any response.

I have had my 07 for over a year. Because I live in Southern Arizona, there are many sunny days here.

Unfortunately, the Azera definitely has a daytime vision problem regarding the dash display. That being said, do not let something as petty as that cause you to not consider the Azera as your next car.

I am 66 years old and have been an extreme auto enthusiast since I was fourteen. My opinion of the Azera is very high.

All things considered, including the almighty buck it takes to purchase an automobile, the Azera is one of the finest family sedans available for the money.

You will not be disappointed with the Azera. Remember, all man made products are not perfect. The Azera will get you the best bang for your buck. Caviat to follow.

Unless you plan to keep your Azera for a while, don't buy it. The resale value is not good. On the other hand, since the Azera has a fantastic warranty, why bother getting rid of it for the next 10 years?

Please note that I also own an 07 Santa Fe. Not bad for someone who just a year ago swore he would never consider buying any automobiles other than Ford.

One exception: In 1988 I purchased a brand new Hyundai Excel. In 1998, after well over 100,000 miles, I donated it to my church. The congregation spent about $200 on repairs and gave it to someone who really needed reliable transportation.

As of this day, it is still runnig strong.

I love my azera...it's in for its 60k today and the only non warranty work I have paid for to date (excluding interval services) are the brakes which have lasted me 45k and 60k miles respectively (yeah front brakes are getting done today too). I have had some minor repair issues but some bugs are to be expected on a first year model car (mine is an 06) and they were all covered under warranty. It is definitely a great car for the money and it test drove me out of the idea of buying a maxima.

Another thought too if you are looking in the Infinity M range is checking out the new Hyundai Genesis. I'm not sure what your timeframe is but they are supposed to hit dealers this summer with prices in the mid 20's to about 40k for a fully loaded V8 version. A beautiful car and loaded with features. And can you say RWD? It's got me seriously considering a trade-up.

Thank you for the response. I presume that at night the display is a lot easier to see. It certainly is not a deciding factor in the purchase of this car. The real problem is stock. Among the five Bay Area dealers there are currently no 2008's available, and when they were available very few were equiped with navigation. It would be great if anyone out there could comment on the quality of both the nav system and the Logic 7 surround system. Thanks again.

The surround system is almost spectacular. We have it on both of our Azeras. The only sound system in a production car that will sound any BETTER than this OEM Infinity Logic7 surround system in the Azera is probably the Lexicon Discrete surround system going into the top-of-the-line Genesis. But that's hypothetical - a prospective judgment based on the fact that it's expensive, high-end, and it's good enough for Rolls Royce ;)

Can't speak to the Nav, sorry... we might not have a lot of members yet who have a car w/ Nav. They've only been available for what, 1.5, 2 months now?

Too bad you're not in AZ. My dealer has a handful of new azzy's (the one in the showroom had nav and they had a ton of 07's too) and the dealer by my work has a $h!t-ton of them. I saw at least 8 or 9 with the Nav in them

I have the GPS system. It is intuitive and pretty much typical with GPS as they go. It has 5 Favorite buttons to store your most popular destinations. You can click on a point away from your present location and it gives you the distance to that point, in feet or miles.

When asking to route to a destination you can choose between 1 or 3 routes. If you choose 3, it will "preview" the 3 routes with the distance and travel time. You pick the one you want.

The "down side", I wish there where more details on the max zoom. It doesn't give you the name of every road on the screen. However that does not hinder you with the objective of getting to your destination. It also does not have a rear view cam as part of the system... it should have like EVERYBODY elses.

It locks onto the satellites faster than all my other GPS's. It locks on almost immediately during boot up.

Find POI is easy as well as creating your own. You search to add to a "mark" or favorite and then "add" it to your personal POIs.

The Azera does not ride like my Lexus ES330, especailly over rough roads. It is fine over smooth roads but over rough roads it is harsh compared to the Lexus. The fit and finsh is close but not a Lexus. The leather and plastics I would say are industrial grade in comparison also but still very nice. It has some minor creaks ans squeeks not found the the Lexus. BUT having said that, the Azera was 10 grand cheaper... the creeks are not that loud

One thing that wonders me, why they put a coin box in the middle console without a lid so it's practically usless for storing coins with having to worry about break-ins?

At the end of the day I would buy another one. :auto:
