Hi all!
I currently own a 2004 Hyundai Elantra GT. I'm at ~92,000 miles right now and the car has been very good to me.
Recently, I started hearing some vibration underneath the car when I would come off an off ramp of the highway and was decelerating. I took it to the shop and they said that it was possible that the catalytic converter was going out. I'm going to a muffler show to get a 2nd opinion today.
I did do a little research online and discovered that the rear converter could be replaced with a generic version at fairly low cost. As to the FRONT converter, my research isn't quite so clear if a generic converter would work.
So, the question is: Will a generic front catalytic converter (a non-hyundai specific model) work on an '04 Elantra?
I'm really hoping so, as the fron converter costs a PRETTY PENNY!
Thanks in advance everybody!
