 Sub Sound, Dies

Ihave a JBL sub and phonex gold octane amp connected to a sony head unit and for sum reason my sub keeps fading out....be thumping away nicely and then nothing and back to just the standard system...i have checked all the wires and connectiongs and as far as i can tell everything is ok. I dont think i have blown anything as it is only occasionaly that it doesnt work!
Can anyone shed any light on this

This happened to me once. Turned out the problem was the power wire in-line fuse. Every time I would hit a bump or the wind blew through the engine bay hard enough, it would seperate the contact from the fuse just enough to cut power to the amp. Make sure the ends of the fuse housing are all the way tight and that the contact can't be pulled away from the fuse itself. Good luck!

i did wonder if it was that but didnt wana sound stupid lol...it occurs more when i turn hard or brake hard...cheers, will have a look at it lata! :460:

Yep. Sounds as though you may have the same problem I did. I had to get a new fuse housing as mine was cracked. Hopefully, if this is your issue, it's just a lose end.

what type of fuse are you using?do you have a cap?

no idea, just a standard wiring kit and no cap no ( i dont think ) ha
