I was wondering how hard the replacement of the front rotors are on a 2004 Sonata 6 Cyl 2.7. I have all the parts purchased and I'm looking to do it myself with the help of a friend with tools. Are there any things I should look for? Any tricky hang ups that I can be aware of before I start so I don't have to make several trips to the auto parts store? I have read on hear that there may be some rust on the rotors and I may have to tap hard to get them off. Is there anything other than that I should be aware of?

Is puling the rotor off simply....
1. Raise the vehicle
2. Support the vehicle
3. Take off the tire.
4. Take off the caliper
5. Take off the rotor.

Then reverse the process?

Are there any bearings I have to deal with or is the rotor basically a cap that fits on the hub?

Thanks in advace for any help.

Bill

don't forget the caliper bracket....but just as you describe. Plus there are 2 phillips screws that hold the rotor to the 'axle.'

don't forget a can of brake clean...wipe the rotor down before and after install....

I did all 4 in an hour and half...and a good 6" C-clamp to compress the pistons back in...loosen cap for measure.
