I have a 2000 Accent, Auto Transmission 1.5L SOHC. Transmission codes indicate dead transmission (says the transmission guy). I am interested in buying a used transmission from the salvage yard and having him install it, but the salvage yard required me to pull the tranny myself. I am pretty good with tools etc... and can do it, but how? Are there any special tools I need to use? Also, if I pull it, can I put it on my car in reverse order? What experience level do you need to have to do this? I would say I am a beginner at this stuff as I have only done some minor stuff (replacd exhaust, tune ups, full brake replacements, shocks, springs). So... what say you?

Thanks,
Chimmy

Hi, new to this forum , but what you can do is go to the library, ask them for the AllData online service, look up your car and what you want to do and print out the information. I have used alldata at the library here in MO alot. I need to do the same thing as you on the same car.

Good luck let me know if you were able to get this fixed.
