I haven't plugged a scan tool in to the Azera yet but I think every OBD-II vehicle has the port somewhere in the driver's foot well, under the dash.

Good luck!

Every car since 1995 HAS to have on OBD-II port... it's about emissions. The emissions protocol in the OBD-II is standard throughout the industry. This allows state inspection stations nation wide to read any car in any state. But that’s where the OBD-II compatibility stops.

The rest of the On Board Diagnostics is and can be proprietary from manufacturer to manufacturer. So buyers beware when purchasing and OBD-II scanner… make sure it reads your car and perfrom the functions you are seeking.

For what its worth, even though you stated that your Sonata does not behave the same, after a number of years in Phoenix and now in Dallas, we have found that when we first get into any of our vehicles we have the air set to Recirc for some time before they begin cooling down the interior. In fact in our Avalon manuals it actually instructed one to do that, the Azera's manual does not but it is still the same for us. Now if it is not blowing cold air out of the vents per spec, then having it on Recirc is not going to help. Good luck.

Takes 2-3 minutes at least for ANY of our cars past (Volvos, Buicks, BMWs) or preset (Jags or Hyundais) to really get "cold". The last car I had that really just blew cold within 10 seconds of turning on the a/c was our '97 Ford Taurus wagon, which did not have r134 refrigeration. Still good old CFCs.

My ritual on 98 or 100-degree North Carolina days with 80% humidity (we're having five in a row right now, in fact) is to roll down the rear windows, crack the sunroof, full-blast the a/c for about a minute to try to get as much of the hot air volume out as possible, then close everything up and hit recirc. I also park in shade and leave my windows cracked throughout the day whenever it's not going to rain.
