First to start off with I've been to the hma site and saw the diagrams that explain to remove the entire panel which involves taking out the back seat (wtf?).
My question is would it be possible to just use a flat head screw driver or some other object and just pry off the grills themselves and put the grill back in or even not care and just break the grill off if i need to, i have 6x9 speaker grills that came with the speakers i could use instead but if i use my external grills i'm not quite sure if i would be able to draw up the screws the whole way since the grill has the screw go in it first and then into the speaker then into the screw hole.
Has any1 attempted to just force the grills off or has anyone replaced their rear speakers and used the matching speaker grills that came with them and it all worked fine?

Removing the rear seat is not a big deal and the side panels won't come out unless you do it . Even if you pry off those stock speaker grills you might not easily be able to remove the stock speakers or install the new ones without damaging or scratching the panels .

It's really easy, there's two tabs on the bottom of the seat, you pull or push those, I don't remember, and the back seat just pops out. Then I'm pretty sure I had to get in the trunk and remove the bolt that keeps the cover over the seatbelt mechanism. Getting the amp out is a different story though, that's how I found all this out. That is a pain in the ****.

Generally if you pop the grill off you still won't be able to access the retaining screws, and if you do, you won't be able to fit the speaker through the hole. And even if you do that without scratching anything, you won't be able to put the grill back on without making a mess.
