Ok i have a 2000 hyundai elantra 80000 miles on it. Just had a new timing belt water pump thermostat couple sensors and gaskets replaced. Was running great and about a week ago i started to notice engine pinging. Sounds alot like a semi. When i accelerate ticking becomes faster. Any ideas on what it would be. Could something of came lose of off after a month or so after getting everything fixed.

Also my back windows dont work. I can here the motors going when i try to use the controls. I took the door panel off and see a cable that isnt connected but cant seem to figure out how to fix it. Hard to see behind door since only a few access holes. Anyhelp would be great just ask if you need some more info. Not to worried about my windows but would really like to hear about the engine. After just spending alot of money i really dont want something else major wrong. Thanks in advance.

Hello!

Check how much oil u'r engine has, and do it fast!!!! I had experience with this problem too! Not to play with this one...! Btw: what gas value RONxx do u use?

About those windows: when u remove dor panel u can see some bolts - they are holding the motor and the aluminium carrier on which the window slides up and down(Lantra 96 has like this). My advice: if it is only the power cable there's no problem fixing it, but if the wire has gone off (like mine-plastic bearer broke and while the motor was turning and I got a 'weird' knot out of that wire  ) and some bearer had broken I suggest u leave it cause it'll take too much of u'r time. Btw: after I saw it was hopeless to fix, I removed the motor and all that stuff inside the door, blocked the window from sliding down and put the door panel back on.

cheers,

Mark
