Neat. About half-way down, in the Interior Features, is this : Front dash, front & rear doors, leather-wrapped dash. Optional on V6, standard on V8. What's the alternative?

Lots of good specifics there! Still no fuel economy, 0-60 or 1/4 mile time on the V8. And still no pricing. D'oh! I hope they come up with pricing before they start selling them... :innocent:

If Hyundai marketing, and dealer service screws up the launch of Genesis as they did Azera, you will probably get 2 for 25,000.

The Genesis will be a hot a seller when it debuts, the annoying thing of buying a Hyundai new is that depreciates higher than the Japanese, German and Swedish vehicles, I rather let someone take the depreciation this could would be worth about 20,000 in a few years, i want a V8 version fully loaded version.

0-60 in well under 6.0 seconds. i would put the number at 5.3.
Fuel Economy = 24/28
Pricing = 28-40k

Just my "guesses"

24/28... for a 4.6L V8 in a 4000 pound car? And considering that a 3.8L Azera running in cold weather gets 16-17 city? If Hyundai has tweaked the heck out of this 4.6 it MIGHT get 16 or 17 city, but they probably have bigger things to work out right now... I'm putting my money on 15 city 23 highway. Pretty comparable to Mercedes 5.5L V8 in an E-class.

I am a evaluator of the new Hyundai Genesis. The car is wonderful. The one I have has the 4.6 ltr. v8 and boy is the car fast. I test the model in the mountains on steep grades and twisty roads. The genesis gets around 24MPG in the mountains with a big powerful v8. The car rides and drives like a dream. The only thing I don't like is the I drive type control BMW has. The control knob adjust the radio and navigation. It make changing the radio or finding a location on the map. Other wise this a beautiful car that looks like a bimmer and drives like one too. Stay tune for pictures on a uncovered actual production type car.

For iPod you will need a special iPod dongle cable. The ipod cable plugs into both USB and Aux in. This cable gives you full iPod integration. The 09 Sonata has this type of a cable. So if you want a genesis and have an iPod with a dock connector than this cable is for you.

363 PS = 358 HP with premium fuel. Premium here isn't 96, it's 93. Many places in the US it's 91.

So even with U.S. premium gasoline it'll produce at least 17hp less than they originally stated. More (since premium here isn't 96). Regular is 87.

That's regrettable.

Oh.... still... even the "thank you for your interest in Genesis" marketing email they just sent out two days ago says 375.

I wonder what it takes to get it to produce 375? Jet fuel?

This is not the first time Hyundai has "mis-stated" their horsepower claims. 2002 Class Action Suit, that they settled with an additional year of warranty coverage and a $50.00 debit card.

Their then US CEO copped a plea stating "the typical Hyundai owner does not associate performance with our vehicles", or words to that effect.

Their own marketing material has said repeatedly, in several locations, 368 with regular and 375 with premium.

www.hyundaigenesis.com - "specs" section
375 peak HP (note: ESTIMATED hp w/ premium fuel)

http://www.hyundaiusa.com/abouthyundai/new...2008_01_08.aspx
368hp (ESTIMATE, presumably the regular fuel number)

You've read all the same stuff madderhatter - 368 / 375 regular / premium. Now the number is 358 premium. We lost 17hp. I mean, it's not to say the Tau is a slouch at 358 but presumably it'll be something like 350/358 regular/premium based on duke's latest tech spec sheet for Tau. I wonder where the HP went?

So we lost 17hp and gained $5000 on the estimated, guesstimated, projected price range of Genesis...
