Does anyone know of any cold air intakes for a 2007 Santa Fe 3.3L? Or for that matter any after market performance parts that may help with gas millage?

So far, I've only been able to find a K&N air filter. http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=33-2378

TIA

I installed the K&N Filters on both my 07 Azera and 07 Santa Fe over a year ago. I am not sure if they helped with gas mileage or power but they definitely last a whole lot longer. :)

As far as a cold air intake is concerned, save your money. The 3.3 does not generate enough underhood heat to create an intake problem.

Even if you could purchase one commercially, you would never recoup your cost via increased efficiency or power. The 3.3 just isn't considered a high performance engine and there is nothing you can do to change that.

I installed a cold air intake in my 2004 Cobra. That made sense and actually helped with the HP, but not in my 3.3 Azera or 3.3 Santa Fe.

The only thing that has helped with my gas mileage is inflating the tires about 4 psi over the recommended amount and avoid jack rabbit starts and quick stops.

By the way, the over inflation of your tires will also give you a more even tire wear and the vehicle will handle much better.

Good luck and enjoy your Santy. They really nice vehicles. Everytime I see a Lexus, I think it is a Santa Fe.

The only difference, mine is several thousand cheaper.

Okay, okay, maybe the Lexus is just a little bit nicer. :whistling: But not that much.

Thanks for the info David, I really appreciate it.

Although I find it odd that you can buy any number of aftermarket parts for a GM/Ford/Dodge SUV's and not a SantaFe.

Don't you think all the hot air is going in to the engine? I think your setup is not a cold air intake at all...I would prefer a drop in K&N.... :)

The Santa Fe is not imported.

The 07+ was designed here and they are manufactured here.

About as American as you can get.

Just like trajetXG said, that is definitely not a cold air intake.

In fact, I would call it a "hot" air intake. There are no shields preventing hot air from entering the filter.

A drop in K&N is more of a cold air intake because the box protects the filter and the air comes from the outside.

Although your system looks "mean" and I am sure you had a great time installing it, the system will do nothing to increase your performance other than to make the sucking of air more prevalent during hard acceleration. It will sound more powerful.

When I was a kid, I had a 56 Pontiac. In fact, almost all of us would do the same thing witih our cars. We would remove the air filter so that the sucking sound was very loud. Sounded great but did nothing for the performance. It did, however, make it "feel" more powerful. :)

Enjoy your Santa Fe. It is truly a great vehicle.

For the picture, probably consider it a short ram intake. Pretty creative though.

Wouldn't the stock from the factory setup with a drop in K&N be pretty sufficient considering the air intake is right above the radiator support pulling in cool air already?
