My 03 Tiburon, 4 cyl has given me trouble recently.

I replaced the lowbeams about 5 weeks ago. Last week, I tried to turn them on but they would not come on. Only the parking lights/tail lights/foglights would come on.

My highbeams work fine.

I tried to replace the relay but that did not work. Does anyone have any suggestions???

Might be the 15a fuse in the engine compartment fusebox , 1 for low beam another for high beam . There should be a spare fuse included in the fusebox . Check the owners manual for the location .

I checked all the fuses and even went to the extent of replacing them but I'm still down a set of headlights.

Anyone else have this problem or have any idea as to what it might be?

I have that problem and have started tracing the electrical harness since all cabin/hood fuses are all ok. When the low headlights went out, the cabin dome, console, shift gear lights were brighter than before. Also the radio stops working when you push the gas pedal and the digital clock flickers. I also got an airbag light at the time the headlight went out and a check engine light 2 days later. Went to a shop to have an OBD2 reading and it is as follows:

P0335
P0563
P1166

I don't know whats causing it. I called hyundaiusa if they will honor their 10 years powertrain warranty to have my timing belt replaced and they said, its up to individual dealer for they function as an individual entity and can charge as much they like even if the car is still covered under the 10 years warranty. For my car, replacing a timing belt cost $ 800. I was thinking that labor would be waive for the car falls on what they called on their page 20 owners manual as "10 years 100,000 miles powertrain warranty. A Hyundaiusa representative told me that the $ 800 would be the price of the belt itself. Hyundai 10 year 100,000 miles powertrain was too good to be true. The dealer offered a new car for a trade in plus a new monthly installment of $ 400 for 3 years.

Bought new in 02: 2002 hyundai elantra full price after 5 years: $ 24,000 - 2,000 deposit.
miles: 45,000 miles with verifiable maintenance service (same dealer since 2002).

I have 2 options: Fix it myself or take the offer and forget and forgive.
