First post here, so this will be my formal "Hello" to the esteemed members already present.

I'd like to know if there's a way I can silence the alarm from beeping when I press the lock button the second time (which I assume engages the alarm system).

Thanks all!

I think you need the dealer to disable the " Horn answer back" feature.

You don't need to press lock twice. The first press will do it, the second one is only if you want the horn feedback.

Thanks for the response. I'll be sure to have the dealer do that on my next visit.

As "maseace" says, you only need to push the button once to engage the alarm. The difference is, that, if you push the button once, the alarm will engage in 30 seconds. Additionally, the alarm monitoring light on top of the dashboard will glow steadily for the 30 seconds before the alarm engages, and then flash when the alarm is engaged. I you push it twice, and the horn sounds, the alarm is immediately engaged, and the alarm monitoring light will immediately be flashing.
