I wasn't able to find very useful information on Google for this so I wonder if anyone here can help.

I just plugged an ODB II tool into my 2001 Hyundai Accent 1.5l CDX (UK model if that make a difference) it retrieved the following codes:

P1610 - Immobilizer Smartra Error
P1801 - Immobilizer Transponder Error
P1805 - Immobilizer EEPROM Error

Since the immobilizer is a computer part, can I just delete the codes or would that make it harder to fix? The car drives without any problems all the time. It starts without any trouble. These codes do make me wonder if they are part of another noticeable fault though -

When I unlock/lock the car or close the doors, or sometimes just randomly, the central locking goes into some kind of spasm, locking and unlocking the doors a few times before staying locked or halfway between locked and not. Thankfully it never sets the alarm when going through this little tantrum, but I wonder if it is something to do with a dodgy lock/immobilizer/alarm system?

Any suggestions on how to fix the codes above?

I got exactly the same codes

P1801 - Immobilizer Transponder Error
P1805 - Immobilizer EEPROM Error

..and engine won`t start at all. These are complicated systems so does anyone know how to fix or in my case - can immobilizer be removed permanently from system?? (i don`t know how to cheat the ECU)

I recently had the same problems.. Exact same codes. The mechanic showed me because i complained my car would randomly not start.

He left me with two solutions after deleting the codes;

If car fails to start remove key and insert the other way round (flip the key)
9/10 the above fixes the problem.

If it continues to fail after about 5 attempts... well over here it costs €1,500 for a new ECU....
