Hey Guys,

I have a 2001 XG thats done 132,000 km, About a week ago it started to play up.
Its like the engine is missing when driving and even idling. I took it to the service center in Wollongong NSW (im on the south coast of NSW) and had them service it and asked them to look at it but after the service the problem was still there.... the service tech said they put it on the computer and it showed all cylinders were not firing correctly but he said he could not work out why! he then went onto say that XG's are incredibility hard to diagnose.

Has anyone out there had this problem ??? does anyone have any advice for me??? maybe you know if a great service center for this model car.

HELP

hi i am a fellow aussie and i have a 2000 grandeur. thankfully my xg has not given me much trouble but i would like to ask you a question did you take it do be diagnosed by a hyundai service center? if not i would try that. also where abouts in australia are you located? if you are located in the sydney area i have had great results from the campbeltown service center. but overall i suggest you try a dealer they are trained and certified in working on these cars and they have the best chance of sorting out your troubles.

132+ thousand km's.....have you owned the car since new? Has it ever had an ignition tune-up?(spark-plugs and related wires/coil/sensors, etc replaced?)

When was the last time you had the injection system cleaned professionally?

A simple knock-sensor that's bad could cause this, or your spark-plug wires in combination with old plugs, along with a number of things could cause this issue, especially if basic maintenance in those regards has been ignored.

yeah some dealers are like that. well the campbelltown dealer is only about an hour drive from you. but you probably wouldnt want to commute that far and drop of the car for an inspection. i suppose you could try the next closest dealer and see what kind service you get there. but if you get desperate i would recommend campbelltown dealer they have been pretty good with me, although you might have to be prepared to spend some $$$. either that or try a local mechanic or diy.

it very easydo itself job take off the cover of the motor and you will see the three coils in front of you and three igintion leads undo the the 2 screws on the coil and pull them out I took one out at time replacing with a new one so I wouldnot get leads the wrong way the cost of the coils here in Australia is about $125 each so it is very expensve how ever I did find a place overseas where I have bought parts from at very reasonable prces you can buy the three coils for $180.44 AUD postage cost $13.77 so your total cost would be $194.21 AUD delivered to your door with in 5 working days I generally get parts in 4 days delivered to Toowoomba
If you buy from Australia you will be up for $375 so it a big difference I did have a mechanic change the ignition leads for me and the three rear sparkplugs

So I hope this help $194.21 for three coils or
$375.00 for three coils

The place I have bought from is
fourgreen Autoparts. There website is as follows www.fourgreen.com you will need a PayPal account tpo pay for the parts just needto supply VIN number
