Hello everyone,

I am new to this site and looking forward to owning a tiburon. The one I am looking at seemed to be in good shape. It did have the V6 6spd and drove well.

The hitch was when shifting into 1st it would grind once in a while. Any suggestions about that? From reading reviews these cars have a history of clutch problems? Which I really would like to stay away from if this may be an early sign on it.

Also here is the link to the car:

It does have a CAI and the aftermarket tails... other than that it was pretty much stock.

Any opinions would be greatly arreciated.

thanks
Randy

Yes, 2003's did have clutch problems. Otherwise, the car looks great. What i would do is find out how much a clutch replacement would cost and use that to talk the dealer down in price to pay for the new clutch.

Dear rrasch,

Also check the manufacture date on the driver's door sill. If your car was produced April 30, 2003 or earlier, there is a Tech Service Bulletin that directs the dealer to replace the clutch for free after examining.

I did not have the early production clutch, and have had no problems with my 2003 GT 6 speed.

Byron
