Hi folks,
No reply in Amicably specific forum so posted here as same question may apply to a few models.
Had a bit of a search but I'm not quite sure. So I'll post.
I'm a pro mechanic normally specialising in VW TDi etc, got my sister a little Amica. Great car, great nick, but on heavy throttle it hesitates and holds back. It feels like the fuel mix is all wrong.
It's fully serviced with new plugs and leads and on part throttle it's GREAT - amost runs too well on part throttle and great on fuel. Which makes me think it's not a 02 issue and possibly a MAP issue. If it was injectors I'd not expect it to run that well on part throttle too. Not done the tappets yet (awaiting gasket) but it's only done 29k, a 2001 1.0 efi.
On a vw I'd start by doing a full fault scan and the ecu will tell me exactly what sensorts are playing, in what way, and if I want aloow me to trigger outputs and watch graphs of input data etc.
I have the Hyundai workshop manual but it doesn't say anything useful about testing the MAP and I'm wondering where you guys would start, and if I can use any sort of lead similar to my VAG-COM. I also have a obd-ii shaped Vauxhall diagnostics lead and software, not sure if that could scan, presuming the Amica has some sort of diagnostics?
Any way of picking out codes or isolating this a bit further than randomly throwing sensors at the engine? Like I say other than this issue everything is perfect, I mean perfect, like new, including no check engine lights coming on.
Thoughts appreciated, Greg.
