I know the title is pretty vague, but I'll explain as much as I know of the situation.
3 or 4 months ago I was driving and the backend of the car started making some weird sounds. So for the next couple of days I had different people ride with me to see if they could hear, and offer their suggestions. (brakes/exhaust/bearing/etc.).
Finally, after 5 or 6 days of driving with this weird sound (which had no affect on the driving), the car started making an odd clunking sound. Got it home and parked it, and let it sit for a month or so while I decided what to do.
Had a friend tell me to get the car towed to a garage that he knows. So the tow truck driver started the car, backed it out VERY slowly to the tow truck and then 'dollied' (sp?) the car to the garage. Next day the garage calls and tells me I need new rear rotors, rear pads, rear calipers, and right rear bearing. And gave me a very high price that I didn't really like.
So another friend tells me to have another garage look at it, someone he is very good friends with and he won't charge for labor, just the parts. So I thought "Great ".
So I have the car 'dollied' to the next garage and get a call a week later saying that everything is fixed (rotors, pads, calipers, and bearing) but they can't test it, the car doesn't start.
I explained that when it left my house over a week ago that it started fine. He explained that the battery fuse had been blown (and he said this rarely happens) and the battery was dead. He re-charged the battery, and replaced the fuse, but when he tries to start the car, the alarm comes on, the front wipers come on, and the doors lock. I can put the side windows up or down when the key is in the ON position (with the car off since it doesn't start) but the sunroof doesn't open/close and the radio doesn't have any power.
From what I've read on the forums, someone said I had to remove the "burgler alarm" fuse and it was located under the dash, above the right leg of the driver. I have been to hmaservice.com (GREAT site btw) but can't seem to find this fuse (maybe I'm just looking at the wrong name of this fuse?). But maybe this isn't even the correct procedure?
I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions before I had it towed (for a 3rd time) to Hyundai so they can charge me a pretty penny.
Thank you,
EYZAE
