I used to own and Accent and did my own oil changes without needing ramps. Will I be able to do an easy oil change in my 2007 Elantra?. Or will I need ramps to get to the drain plug and oil filter.

Thanks,
Tyman

It depends on how skinny you are. The clearance isn't an issue for the drain pan, depending on the type. You will probably want ramps for comfort, but my old favorite is just to park with the drain plug end (passenger) of the engine on a curb and the other side on the street. I haven't met a car I couldn't slip under in this situation.

As an aside, the two piece drain pan is peculiar. I've not seen this design before. Intuitively it seems like twice as many spots to leak, but the cast portion probably has a good fit and eliminates the poor fitting stamped steel pans of older cars. Time will tell. Regardless, the plug is very easy to access. If I remember correctly, its 17mm,

The filter is a minor PITA b/c there is a small undertray beneath it. You can work around the tray, but you'll drip oil all over it when the filter comes off. Better to remove it.
