danny, sorry about how you have been treated, i had aftermarket cc fitted by dealer $750 with warranty. as toxic said would be easy to fit,but would it have warranty? thats what i wanted too. could pm me. as i'm in syd too
The way i look at it is, Hyundai wanted to offer a cheap diesel to start with so offered the SX. if you want to pay more SLX, they also limit the #'s to try to keep sale's up. then later when there is more around, put in CC and maybe some other feature to keep them selling.just what i think. but after finding out what the lights work like in the dark in the Bush. i'm having trouble working out how Hyundai do things. like you look at those lights ( same lights SX or SLX and you think they look like they will be good light's at night in the Bush, then your driving at night in the bush useing low beam, then you switch on high beam, all that happens is your light goes up a bit but does not look like you have any more light than what you had with low beam. anyone else notice this? i'm not playing around with the lights as i want to keep my 5 year warranty! so i'll just tell dealer next service. also lights seem to be focused low but could not see adjustment so i'll just tell dealer next service and if that don't work wait for daylight saving to come back :) Cheers

tx for the support and responses im slowly getting over it car the whole point is its Hyundai's error of judgement and not ours as diesel owners not to get Cruise control or offer as an accessory item.
I have also been told that this will be included with all new i30's later on this year, If hyundai are that customer focused they would buy a s*** load of cruise control and sell them to their existing i30 owners at a reasonable price or arrange replacement vehicles for all i30 owners with the factory built option attached. I offered to pay $990 for esp they couldnt supply within a reasonable timeframe ( over that one ) I offered $500 for cruise and told $900 +
Lakes what dealer you go through maybe you can PM me details ?

Before anyone gets too worked up, it might pay to read the fine print (associated with any vehicle model and make). It goes something like this: The maker reserves the right to modify the specifications of the vehicle at any time.
When we buy a car, we are given the brochures and have access to the websites. What options are included are clearly stated and from where I sit there is no disception. Sometimes we might not like it when later on a new deal or an option is offered, but legally, we have to live with it.
We got two things included that we didn't expect, namely a 5th mag wheel and after asking for it, a 2nd remote key.
It hurts like **** that we missed out on cruise control and that future vehicles are getting it, but that is the way it is, like it or not.
Oh, and yes, we got ESP and we had to wait a little longer. That was our choice. Those who ordered recently, if you ordered yours with ESP, you never know, with the extra wait, you might also have scored cruise control.

:amen: Bob, i agree, i looked at other compareable small diesel's some had cc, but i liked the way the Hyundai CRDi motor performed, not the fastest but it was the smoothest and easiest to drive specially in traffic. i still would have bought it without cc, but the salesman just mentioned that he can get aftermarket cc fitted so i said ok, and i'm happy it works perfect for me. the lights would not be hard to fix just hope hyundai improve that say by next year and it would be a near perfect car.
Danny i sent you a pm m8

tx lakes Im going to contact the dealer principal and vent my frustrations there for them not being upfront about the cruise control option. Im not expecting it for free but i stand my grounds Im not paying $1100 for it and Lakes has provided a contact who i will also chase up.
As for value for money the i30 is exceptional i do still believe hyundai made a big mistake leaving cruise off the aussie vehicles but giving it and many other features to New Zealander/european markets.

Well, i have 6,000k up with my i30 CRDi 5 speed with aftermarket CC, not one problem, i just got back from a 835K round trip this weekend used the CC most of the way. could not be happier. i looked at TDI Golf but service parts very pricey , plus they have to use a special oil, and they are not common rail, but they must be ok these is enough around. just i don't trust VW reliability as have owned new ones in the past. i'll stick to what i have.

Hi Darryl & Lakes,
I gave up on the Golf idea as there was also a 2-3 month wait on the TDI models so I guess turbo diesels are in high demand at the moment. I have settled for the after market cruise which the dealer said will be covered for the same period as the car warranty (6 years in our case). It was very disapointing to learn that we had waited an extra 6 weeks for nothing after the dealer advised we would be getting factory cruise but it sounds like the aftermarket units are not far off. I think the one Lakes has is an Autron unit & they send signals down the existing horn wire from the control on the wheel. The one were getting is a Command unit which use's infra red to get the signal from the control unit on the wheel. I think other than this they are similar as they are both designed for 'drive by wire' systems & a electronic control module plugs into the existing harness on the top of the accelerator pedal via a T connector. This sounds like a better setup than the actuator pedal pull type systems. Anyway we picked the car up & are very happy with it so far even though we have done less than 100km, the fuel indicator is hovering around 5.2L per 100k which is great considering we have only drove around the city on short runs. Also impressed with the positive steering & solid feel of the car as well as the torque & power at low rpm. Will post results of the Command cruise instalation later on. Cheers

Hi guys, I'm in a similar situation as you I30CRDI. I ordered my slx crdi in early june... and am still waiting for it. The car has arrived in Oz late june and was meant to be ready early july. Now there has been a delay and the car wont be ready for pickup until august. I asked my dealer about the cc and they had no idea what was going on. They have said that I cant delay the order for a later date. Yes, that's what the contract says, and they're sticking by it. I just wish they knew what was going on. I nearly feel like I got a runout model :-(. The dealer is hopeless all round.. they never return calls and are quite bad with information. I wish I put a delivery clause on the contract.. now its too late.. i just have to wait.. and wait for a non-cc car. <sigh>
