Hi there, new to this but have to tell you that after getting our approx delivery date on 2 new crdi slx's today we have also been told that there is a new option included on the may 08 models which is cruise control, yes can you believe it, so far we have not been told it will cost more but that its just a new inclusion.  I have been reading all the info on the after market ones but it seems that we won't need that now.  We have been told that the cars are in Oz already but we won't get delivery until the last week in June.

Hi Louie, have you ordered auto or manual? I started a thread a few weeks ago on trying to get the 'factory bits' retro fitted but ran out of time to pursue it and a couple of others have done some digging around as well. This gives us a little hope and it sounds like Hyundai are 'listening'! Cheers - Clive.

Okie dokey.
It is confirmed.
All SLX CRDI's will come with Cruise control if built on or after May 2008.

I called my dealer and they did some checking and this is confirmed.
My car may not be delivered until mid July but, that saves me some money and gets be factory cruise control. :460:
I wonder what other things they have added / removed from the std spec???

When my dealer called the Stock controller, the stock person was surprised as this was not supposed to be announced untl next month. (Perhaps they are clearing the decks of stock before they advise.

For the record mine is a Auto.

IMHO, for those cars that do not have it, it should just be a matter of buying the buttons / loom and enabling / upgrading the engine management system. So I think it should be able to be retro fitted..

Good on you Hyundai I say.. Finally a manufacturer that listens...!

Whoohoo thats great news, hmmm looks like I let the cat out the bag hey!!! I think our dealer was just trying to make us happy after he told us the cars would be here in two weeks but who cares now hey.

We have ordered the manual slx's and its definately going to be worth waiting for. I do feel bad for people that have already got their cars or are still to get them and have not got it fitted. I guess its only an issue if you would have liked to have it.

Definately sounds like hyundai is listening, but its like any cars they always try and improve them with time, you watch by next year the protectz pack will probably be included too.

I am glad I got this info and shared to make some of you happy!

Louie

And I was JUST about to put an order in for the Mazda 3 diesel ..... well, a spanner in the works indeed, because this CC was the only spec I was terribly displeased about in the SLX diesel .....

Now if only the dealers would discount a little more .....

Have you seen the new mazda 6? they look a bit like a new lexus from the side, the guy across the road just got a black one, think they are bringing out a new 3 soon too, if i was you and liked mazda, i would wait for the new one, but the new 6 does not have TD option now.

Grrr - had feedback from Hyundai :(

QUOTE(Hyundai email @ May 15 2008, 03:11 PM)
15/05/2008

Dear Mr Snowman,

Thank you for your enquiry.

Cruise control on the diesel i30 should be available (factory fitted only) before the end of the year.

The HMCA has no official release date for the i30 with factory fitted cruise. Current stocks of auto diesel do not have cruise.

Once cruise becomes available, we will communicate this to the public with a revised specification sheet on the Hyundai web site.

No retro fit and no other options other than aftermarket if not fitted at factory.

There are currently two systems which can be purchased aftermarket one is Command and the other being Autron.

These systems can only be installed by professional installers.

More information can be located on the below 2 web sites.

http://www.autron.com.au/newweb/index1280.htm

http://www.tcag.com.au/default.asp

If you have any other queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Kind Regards

Tina

Isnt it funny how they deny the change is this month. The only people who have been told are those that have actual orders in and that have asked specifically.! :whistling:
