Although I've had my i30 since last September, one of the first in the uk, I'm finding the comments on the i30 forums really useful/helpful.

This is my 3rd Hyundai, Pony, Accent and now the i 30.

Can't fault the car except for only 1 remote and positioning of the washer jet !!!.

The difference between the spec in different countries is really interesting. In the UK we seem to get a lot more as standard than other countries.

Only seen 1 other i 30 on the road, actually it was in ASDA car park.

Any other Uk member other than Shambles!

welcome eye30, good to get more from UK. hope you are all like Shambles!
Here in Australia they know we are easy to please, so they don't offer us as much. it's an old trick! give them less first one out the box, then offer the lot on the next years model to keep sales up. it's never smart to buy first of any thing better to wait, so you will find we are all an impatient lot in here :)
but hey i got one too
Cheers
John

Hi Eye30 (That's a bit of a mouthful...)

:00000732:

Nice to have another contributor from the UK. As lakes hinted to we "quite" like Shambles (but don't tell him he'll get a big head... :P

Here in Aus, the market seems quite price sensitive (Had a Nissan Bluebird sss back in 1993 that cost me A$37,000, was a sensational vehicle in lots of ways and fully loaded with features but relatively expensive compared to lesser opposition so it was a sleeper) :amen:

Think Hyundai read the market well here coming up with a good compromise of features versus price. In UK and NZ i30 seems relatively dear.

Rgds,

Dazz

Hi Shambles,

Well you won last night now bring on Liverpool or will it be Chelsea.

This is the content of my email to Hyundai uk:

When I spray water on the front windscreen the windscreen is not cleaned properly or dirt fully removed because the water:
(i) only sprays the bottom 6-8 inches of the windscreen
(ii) hits the wiper arms thus preventing the water from fully reaching the windscreen.

I have spoken to the Service Manager and after examining the jet mountings he has informed me that there is no movement/adjustment provided.

Can you please advise me if Hyundai UK are aware of any way of adjusting the jets?

Reply received:

Thank you for your enquiry regarding the Windscreen Washer Jet Adjustment.
I have made some enquiries on your behalf and I regret to inform you that
the washer jet is not adjustable.

Stating the obvious!!!!

so I asked for further clarification and got the following reply:

As the i30 is new to the market, there is no information to date to suggest any plans for modifications yet.
All vehicles undergo stringent testing and quality control in Korea.
Your feedback is important to us and is critical in order to better manufacturing.
We appreciate your response.

Amazing innit?

Check the filter in the delivery line. My jets behave like power washers and could clean the windscreen on their own, without wipers :whistling: I wonder if you have a blockage maybe.

Oh, and Chelski will win as they've just scored

Strong force of water hitting the windscreen.
Its the position where it hits, near botton not near top.

Worried the dirt will scratch windscreen and cause vsion issues later.

Will check filter tomorrow.

I'm a Blue, Everton not Chelsea, but would prefer Man u V Liverpool final!!

Hey when i picked up my new car it was spotless, then the saleman got in to show me how everything worked, he sprayed the washers worked the wippers and now i have the sud's mark on my windows and have to clean them. maybe you need a saleman like i got :) he was great, just i was short of time and wanted to get going pronto.

Now don't you boy's bite me as i know nothing about English league, but my Cousin likes Leed's, and a colleague at work likes Darby County, by the sound of it they are both loosers :)
Cheers

Eye30, my spray hits the bottom too (ooerr), but spreads under force. I've only used mine while travelling which probably helps dissipate the water during the wipe cycle. I understand what you're saying about possible scratching tho.

John (Lakes) yeah both those teams are losers :w00t:

Up the reds, whatever colour they are

I just checked my jets and they sure are unadjustable. Strange, square, setup with 2 streaming delivery nodes. I've never seen a vehicle where a pin in a hole couldn't adjust the angle of the jets.

My comment about the filter was also a generic one, as I was assuming there is one in the delivery line. Might check mine too tomorrow, when the Champions League cup final teams have been finalised for Moskow  (and when it's a bit lighter outside)

I'm a "scouser" but born a "wooly back" and PROUD to be one.

Shambles is a "Manc" bitter football rivals to both Everton and Liverpool.

I support Everton and not Liverpool.
